He was the OC in greenbay, take up playcalling responsibility and coach this team, plenty of other coaches call their own plays. Do it, show us he has the spark, the "it", whatever you want to call it. Instead of being on the sideline not doing anything the whole entire time and just asking the refs what was that stupid call every single time.

What do you guys think? Give him a shot and see if he can call plays like McCarthy? Or is it already too late and you guys have seen everything there is to see with Philbin?

I'm pretty sure he was never a play caller in Green Bay. I think he was a different kind of OC. More quality control type stuff, might be wrong but I'm pretty sure he wasn't a play caller ever.

How come we keep getting former OL coaches that can't put together a decent OL?

No, he was the OC but he just didn't call plays. My guess is that he was too slow to be able to react to game-type situations which is why McCarthy took the play-calling upon himself. So you guys are totally done with Philbin then? I mean i did agree with a lot of his decisions, some while risky paid off and some didn't, that's just the way it goes. To be honest I like this staff a lot more than when we played Sparano Ball. Now THAT was truly a play for the FG offense every single time.
