IMO this guy should be our next Gm

I'm all for a GM who knows how to spot and acquire talent. But does he also know how to manage our cap, or does Ross keep Aponte and let her do that?

Will he fire Philbin if necessary? Because I believe it is now necessary for any gm we bring in or even Ireland if he stays.

Yeah but..Who did her bring to the team? Anyone good? Who did he go out and scout to tell the GM, "This is our guy." And go to the wall with that choice. That's what I want to know. Not that he enjoys reading.

He'd better be really good because that last name of his will be a nightmare for him if he isn't.

I was looking at the Packers' front office as well but with Eliot Wolf. The son of Ron Wolf, he's young at 30 but has lots of experience already. Nearly his entire life has pretty much been all football. Also he graduated from the University of Miami so there's that if it's worth anything.

I'm not saying he's the guy, but I'd definitely look into him. Especially if Ross is thinking about keeping Phailbin.

"The son of former Packers general manager Ron Wolf, Eliot’s scouting career unofficially began at age 10, when he joined his father in film sessions at Lambeau Field."

This guy was learning how to break down films when he was 10. Our GM was shagging balls.
Man, if that don't feel like a...

I keep reading this as if fans believe it is the only way it works. The Jets hired a new gm and are still keeping Rex.

Why are people so insistent on keeping Philbin? Joe Philbin promised us an explosive, high scoring offense and WE'RE ACTUALLY SCORING LESS POINTS NOW THAN WE WERE BEFORE HE TOOK THE JOB.

unwritten rule in GB. When an assistant leaves to be a head coach (ie Philbin) you don't take any Packers coaches or front office with you. Find your own.

Philbin hasn't taken anyone from GB yet,...it won't start now

This is true, but is wouldn't be Philbin offering him a job it would be Ross. And who know how long he would have to wait in the wings to take over for Ted Thompson. Who last year at the age of 60 said he has no plans to retire soon.
