This move got me very excited. We have a guy with prior experience and success in the 3-4 defense. He not only strives in the system but makes everyone around him better.

-Keith Traylor and vonnie holliday will benefit from this move alot. Porter will most likely pass rush outside because of his natural speed, and jason taylor on the opposite side. This will greatly free up space in the middle for all that focus around the outside. Keith may not be the fastest guy in the world, hell he may even be the slowest guy in the world but with that outside pressure it will force the quarterback to scramble outside, which won't be very affective because of the speed of taylor and porter. or it will force him to step up in the pocket, where the least amount of focus is. Expect a big year for sacks with holliday and traylor

-Matt Roth. I have a feeling he is going to be a sneaky good end. Again with the focus on porter and taylor roth has a chance to sneak through and disrupt the pocket and cause pressure on the passer.

-Zach thomas. I know zach doesn't get alot of sacks i remember a few plays where he just exploded through the middle of the line last year and caused problems for the defense. Expect to see zach on delayed blitzes. this will force them to put more protection on the outside and they wont see zach coming.

-Channing Crowder. Channing in this defense is more of a cover guy and with the pressure from the line/some of the linebackers expect the quarterback to try to throw some dumpoff passes or short passes through the middle. With pressure the quarterback faces a pressure decision which many dont handle too well, and channing/our corners could get some more interceptions.

-Joey porter makes himself better. Defenses will give him alot of focus and when he pretends to blitz and drops back into coverage it can allow taylor and others to sneak through for the pressure. Joey is also a pretty good cover linebacker and he can help us there too

-Secondary. They will most likely benefit from the pressure that our front 7 gets on the quarterback. This can make an average, or below average secondary look fairly good.

**Joey's lockerroom presence is also a very strong point. he will bring emotion to a team which much of last year didn't have much.**

I agree on everypoint made but dont forget Jason Allen moving back to CB... I also think Matt Roth is gonna fly under the radar for now but be a amazing DE.

I dont think amazing at the moment if at all. Matt didnt get a look in hardly in his rookie season and last season he came in and contributed and he was used alot on goal-line situations. He does have backfield speed, with experience he can be solid. I like him and think he'll be around for a good few yrs.

This is what i hope Joey Porter will do for the defense, make it even tougher. He's the type of player that get to the QB but he's also the emotional type of player that makes everyone around him better. When was the last time we had a player that gets loud and gets everyone else around him the same way?

That's what I am looking forward to most, his emotional leadership. Something this defense has lacked in the past.

I agree with everything except this statement..This can make an average, or below average secondary look not fairly good, but exceptionally good
