If the Jets win, New England is eliminated from the division title (unless the Jets-Fins game ends tied). The Pats would be eliminated from the playoffs entirely if Baltimore beats Jacksonville (unless the Jets & Fins tie).

If the Jets lose, Miami will be the only AFCE team in control of its fate. New York could only win the division if Buffalo beats New England. The Pats could only win it if Miami loses. (Pats will still be eliminated for a wildcard if Baltimore wins.)

Should we root for the Jets? Part of me thinks yes just to see the Pats eliminated from the AFCE picture...

Go Jets . . . . I want 8:15 p.m. next Sunday night . . . . . I want the league and the country to see what they are going to have to deal with in the upcomming years. If we can win in that cold, we can win at the Meadowlands at night.

I'm really torn on this. I'd love to see the Pats finished.

But if we get an evening game, the Pats could eliminate New York before our game even starts. With nothing to play for, the Jets could be a a little easier to beat.

Ditto - I want this to be in front of EVERYBODY. I want them to black out every TV Show on every station in the country, and some in Canada. I want it to be a mandated federal law that everyone in the country watch this game.

I want everyone to remember how the stinking Jets threw Chad away, and that he came back to haunt them.

Let's go take what's ours.

Here's to a full house on December 28th!

NO WAY! THIS SHOULD BE OUR MOST IMPORTANT GAME IN THE LAST DECADE! I want as much riding on this game as possible! The whole season should rest on us going into NY and beating our most hated rivals!

It makes it that much more fun!

whats the url of the gangreen forums? I want to see what they are posting and I want to encourage them to win today

I agree, and it will be. Even if the Jets lose, and the Pats win next week, Miami will still need to win in order to take the division.

If the Jets don't win . . . we IMO won't get Sunday night . . . unless Denver beats the Bills . . . and if the Eagles lose.

Wrong on that point imo. If the Jets have nothing to play for than they'll play like they have nothing to lose (like KC did going for it on 4th down and 10[?] in the first quarter)

I think we get the flex game now, regardless. Even if the Jets are out of it, the game will still decide who wins the division, it will still be a (formerly) 1-15 team finishing the greatest comeback season ever, and it will still be Favre-Pennington.

But I'm just guessing.

I want this too, I just checked both the NBC site and ESPN, neither has a Sunday night game schedule, yet. The NBC site notes that this is a flex game. I can't think of another more meaningful game next week. The only way they won't flex the Jets-Dolphins is if CBS protects the game. Under the broadcasting agreement, each network (FOX and CBS) are allowed to protect X number of games from being flexed. I'm not sure if CBS has used all of theirs up yet.

Even if it isn't flexed, it will DEFINITELY be the marquee game for CBS at 100pm.

Yea I think they will announce it after the 4 p.m. games.
