2010 Important NFL Dates

January 15
Last day for underclassmen to declare for the NFL draft
January 25-30
Senior Bowl Week
February 7
Super Bowl XLIV
February 24 - March 2
NFL Scouting Combine
March 5
Free agent signing period begins
April 22-24
NFL Draft

TEams can release a player whenever they want to. Its just that most teams release them late Feb early Mar because of the salary cap and the need to be under it. But this season, if no CBA is agreed upon, teams wont need to do so....so many teams may not let go of players up until right before the season begins, where they have to be under the mandated 78, 60, then 53 to start the season! Yikes!

They moved the First Round to Friday night prime time. I expect it to resemble the Grammies by the time they are done with it.

The NFL draft will kick off in prime time for the first time in 2010, it was announced Thursday. The first round of the 2010 NFL Draft will start on Thursday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. ET, with the second and third rounds on Friday, April 23 at 6:30 p.m. ET, followed by Rounds 4-7 on Saturday, April 24 at 10 a.m. ET.

I have a feeling that day will come and go without us making any significant moves... We'll be sitting by the tv at midnight, waiting to see if the Fins signed any of those few really good players, only to hear that we signed someone's discarded #4 LB or something
 
Does anyone know what the deadline is for the CBA to get done? I know they aren't expecting it to get done this year but I was just curious what the official deadline was so we know for sure that this will be an uncapped year.

i don't know the specific date, but March of this year. After march, and there's no deal, then it will be uncapped.

I think it might be on the 5th when free agency starts. How would you know how much to sign a player for without really knowing if you have a cap or not.

Anyone really know?
