I have some bad news to bring everyone today. I'm no longer going to be able to take my usual "play by play" notes for my camp reports. I've been asked by the Miami Dolphins Training Camp security to stop doing it, and trust me, they're serious about it...

I explained my situation, and that my intentions are pretty much harmless, but it didn't help / make any difference. They told me the only way I can continue taking notes, is if I get hired by the MD or get a media pass. They don't want anyone tweeting / texting / or taking notes, nothing...

Sorry all, but I've basically been shut down. I know it sucks, it certainly wont be the same reporting for me now. Trust me, I'm not in the greatest of moods. I look forward to TC every year, and although I respect the team's need for privacy / secrecy, I'm still very disappointed...

In closing, I want to thank everyone for their repeated "Thanks", and for reading my reports. I've had a lot of fun over the years keeping the masses informed as much as possible. I hope I can find a way to fix things in the near future, and get back to doing "play by play" reporting, but until then, we'll all just have to cope. MAJOR BUMMER!!!!!!!....

MORNING SESSION 8/12

I was fortunate enough to get out there this morning and watch. Honestly, it was one of the most uneventful practices I've witnessed thus far during camp. Most of the day was dedicated to Special Teams drills. The kickoff teams, the punt coverage units, FG team, ect all were getting tons of works today. It was really quite boring to watch...

They did get into some 11-11 drills late in the morning session, but for the most part it was a disappointment. The QB's were all looked a bit rusty, there were a couple picks thrown, and I didn't see anything that sparked much positive interest offensively...

The defense looked good, but not much else did from my chair. I was ready to leave early, stayed until the end, and then wished I hadn't. It was very hot, crowded, and considering that almost the entire practice was focused on ST's, it was kind of a waste of time / sweat to go...

I'm going to try and get back out there for the 8:00pm session tonight, but I might not have anything to report until tomorrow. Take it easy...

Sorry man, but I really appreciate your efforts...kept us all in the loop, especially those of us that aren't able to get out to see practice ourselves. Phins are serious about this and maybe that's best...the Pats' note-taker gets shut down too...
 
If another team wants the information that badly they will just send somebody to the camp and watch. I personally just don't like this. I understand they probably want people to come out and watch and not get reports, and they dont want people knowing how we are doing. Your reports don't give formations or personel that are being used other than those touching the ball. Oh well, all good things must come to and end. Thanks for all the hard "work" and keeping us out of towners up to date on the fins training camps.
 
I'm glad the security is actually going through the motions and trying to enforce the issue. Sucks for you though because I know your not a Cheatriot splinter cell agent.

well dont think that there isnt other logs made on other forums; there is like about 5 of these forums that are active.
 
when i saw 'important notice' in the thread title and then 'i have some bad news...' to start the post i thought someone got injured. difficult to have sympathy for your plight after being tricked into thinking something went wrong with the team. it really isn't IMPORTANT and it really isn't bad news, except for you. same as the 'henne is dead...' thread title. good for a split sec unnecessary adrenalin rush. brighten up, knuckleheads!!
 
Yeah me too, I was about to tell him not to be scaring us with them kinda words..
 
Sucks. Have been looking forward to your TC reports for years. Hopefully something get's resolved and you can continue writing reports.
