Of course we have to temper our enthusiasm about the offense with the fact that we were playing against perhaps the worst defense in the league last night.
However, I do think the addition of Reggie Bush, in combination with Brandon Marshall and Davone Bess, will present defenses with fairly tough matchup problems on a routine basis.
Bush is simply a beast in the open field, and if he shows he can run effectively in a traditional running back role, he'll be extremely valuable and will open up the offense considerably.
Marshall is just impossible to cover. Through the first 10 minutes of the game last night, he was on-pace for 24 catches and 228 yards for the game. That's Herculean.
Now, if we could trade let's say a Randy Starks for a seam-busting tight end, this team will be very hard to match up against, with Bush and Marshall playing like they are.
I'm impressed and hopeful.
