you guys not giving the chiefs enough credit.
You guys have to admit, there were a lot of things on the players minds tonight. And for you guys, it had to be even tougher with all the family and friends and personal belonging concerns.
This couldn't have been a better scenario for the Chiefs. get in, get out, and start thinking about a tough game against the Chargers in 2 weeks.
I tried telling you guys our D was improved. We are solid against the run,a nd I think you saw that tonight. You could take away about 4 or 5 plays, and we dominated this game like we did against the Jets week 1.
Take away the Brown run, the long ball pass to your return guy, the return for a TD, and the long pass to Chambers, and this is a completely different ballgame. I'm not making excuses, just stating how it is. The thing that killed us in the past was the big plays, and obviously that is where Miami was successful tonight. We control the big plays and this is a completely different game.
The Chiefs are a very solid team, all the way around. The D-Line is now getting pressure, our LBs are playing well, and our secondary is solid. Surtain and Knight really made some plays.
On offense, it's still there. It's just taken some time to get where we need to be. And we still may not be there just yet! But don't cut yourself short. You lost to a very damn good football team tonight IMO, under some very stressful circumstances. There is no reason to believe your season is over, Saban won't be a competent NFL coach, and even this season you can't get done what you need to to find yourself int eh playoffs.
The Chiefs just had to have this game. And they went in and took it. Now it's off to San Diego, and time to look to take our second road divisional game. Good luck to you guys the rest of the way, especially the other times you square up against ACW foes :)
