What I mean is that we might surprise people, by giong 8-8 or 9-7. Im not saying we will go to the superbowl, but I would be happy with one of those records.

People were saying in the offeason that Aj Feely might be this years Drew Brees, well that didnt happen, the incumbant lost, thats the oppsite of what hapened with San Diego.

Actually I think we have impressed, or suprised if you would rather put it that way, more people in our 1st game then San Diego did.

Well I sure as hell hope we don't lose to the Jets at home in a primetime playoff game on a Saturday night.

I can see it.

Jets are getting blown out 28-0...then penny gets injured to start the 2nd half and Fielder comes back and leads the Jets to 5 straight TDs to win 35-28.
 
Let's save our predictions for the mid way point at least. The Broncos are not that good. When we beat an elite team, then we can start talking about comparisons to a team that made the playoffs.
 
People tend to forget that the Dolphins blew out the Rams last year, and beat the Patriots, but that did not make us a good team.
 
I hope that we can manage a decent record.

The things that concern me with this are:

1) Can the offensive line continue to improve? I still dont think its where we need to be in terms of the run blocking at least.
2) Is Frerotte a 1-game wonder? I have Brian Griese's first phins performance lodged in the back of my mind.


That said, it looks like we won't have the cover-your-eyes bad season I was half expecting. As long as we stay competitive it will be a fun season to watch.

yeah, if we beat the jets convincingly we might become the "sexy pick" for the playoffs this year like the chargers were last year. The media loves a cinderella team/story and there's always one each year that they are looking for...if not us, who will it be then?

Griese's first start was alright, but he did not have to do much to win that game. SD's team was in so much disarray that Ray Lucas could have lit them up. While I think we had things easy in the second half of the Denver game due to their injuries and the heat, a Gus that is nearly as accurate as he was Sunday could keep doin it.
