In all of my life as a phin fan...

I don't know about this. He's obviously no Bill Parcels, but he can't control injuries, Ricky leaving to smoke ganja in Australia, Marino quitting after 1 week, 2 O.C.'s, etc... This has been a joke of an off-season and I don't think much (if any) of it was his fault. *Feeley issue not withstanding* Do we need a replacement at HC...sure, but not because he's lost total control of the team. What happened to the Fins could have happened to any team.
You obviously have not closely followed the stories surrounding this team. Various insiders with off the record access too players report a lot of dislike among the team for Wanny's ultra conservatism, his unwillingness to take the shackles off and let the players play.

I think rather than use all the off-season problems as excuses for Wannstedt you might consider the strong possibility than many of those problems were at least partially due to him in one form or another.

Ya know guys... I will be going to Miami to see my first home game in my 24 year fan tenure. I know we are going to struggle this year with all that's happened. But you know what, I LOVE THIS TEAM!!! Plain and simple. Every single team in the NFL has had it's share of tough times. We have become so spoiled with winning season after winning season. Now our expectations ar so high that when it's our turn to endure rough waters, many out there are ready to throw in the towel. Not me, not by a long shot. This team of mine (and yours) could go 1-15 and I will still root whole-heartedly for this franchise. Sink or swim, I'm in for the long haul. I take all of the criticism with a grain of salt because I know, that when you are down, the weak minded fools are always right there to kick you when your down. Screw 'em. C'mon Dolphans, this team needs us. To back them with our best effort. You'd be surprised at how much fan support can help motivate a team. Just ask the Anaheim Angels of 2002!

My 2 pennies!!!

*stepping off my podium*

and GO PHINS!!!

I'm not giving up on the Fins. I say 9 or 10 wins this year. I'm amazed at how all the "expert" on the sports networks are writing them off already. They'll be surprised!

I feel the same way.

It's just one game and things are looking up. I think 10-6 to 12-4 is realistic considering our terrific defense and the potential of our new and iimproved offense (specifically Feely and the Oline).

We will be better this year than last year and how great will it be to enter the playoffs with a QB who can actually light it up?

Ive been a Dolphin fan for 19yrs and weve had it good for so long that as soon as something remotely goes wrong the doom and gloom merchants start coming out and predicting we'll be the worst team ever!! get real. We are the Miami Dolphins and i dont care who or whatever throws at us we will prevail. We have alot of upside going for us if the new players come in and play to their potential. We have a new offence and im excited to see how they come together. Im not expecting miracles but neither did Shula when we went unbeaten in 72 with 2 Qb's!!!! Im not going to say we are going to win the superbowl or even get to the playoffs but this is a new beginning for our O and i want to see them get better as the season goes and im sure we will. Im excited this season as i was the last and the season b4 that. Hey every man, jack and his cat has slated us b4 weve even had chance to settle! Lets just see how we do then come out the closet ya doom merchants and have a pop!! ;)

IMO many Dolphin fans including myself see positives but also are being realistic. Wanny is NOT the HC to oversee this many changes on the team (see the Fiedler/Feeley 1st week debacle for instance) and if the team comes together and wins more than 8 games it will be in spite of his leadership, not because of it. Realistically, it won't take much of any more controversy to see this team slide to 4-12. I hope i'm wrong.

Man it's been one hell of an offseason..we all know the chronology of it...but folks are stressed out as we have never been unsettled before. I dont mind negativity amongst our own, alot of times they are valid reasons and folks are searching for someone to shed some positive light. As for me, I've always said that I'd be for scrapping the O and suffering for a bit to get good-great again. I actually like our talent there and think game 5 the lightbulb illuminates and we are quite good. Might be disillusioned, but so what if I am, that is what I believe. Wise has a huge (in mega way) job to do with so many new guys, but he is a tremendous OL coach and I think they'll come around. Getting Tosh in there will be a major deal as well. Can we squeek out to 2-2 until week 5 for our O to start hitting on all cylinders? that to me is key.

you were obviously not here after we lost to the Texans last year

I'm One Of The Biggest Fins Fan Here In Canada , My First Born Son Had A Miami Dolfin Football And Pyjama The Day He Was Born In His Crib , Now He Where's A Jersey And Watches The Fins On Tv With Me And He's Only 4 , My Computer At Work Is Covered With Dolphin Logos And I Have My Office At Home Decorated With All Kinds Of Dolphins Flags And Helmets And What Ever You Can Think Of , There's No One More Than Myself That Wishes The Fins Win Every Game Be It Preseason Or Reg Season Like I Said Man I Bleed Aqua & Orange ... But Wanny Is Destroying This Team He's Got No Ba!!s To Make A Decision On The Qb Situation That Should Have Been Made 4 Months Ago .anyways Go Fins Go !!!!!!!!!

The Dolphins are a team that needs to rebuild, I'm a fan, but they just need to. Zach Thomas begged them to rebuild a few seasons ago but they never did. I'm sick of poor decisions by the front office. I'm not gonna put any blame on Rick and give him a few seasons but if you think we didn't get jobbed by Philly for getting AJ you're crazy, this guy could prove to be a good qb, but a 2nd rd pick for a qb with MINIMAL experience is crazy, most College QB's have more game playing experience than he had. We stole David Boston from SD. Wali for Booker and Gordon was a wash for a trade. Lamar Gordon will be a good backup RB in the future. If everything goes well we could contend maybe for a wildcard, but how many 3 and outs can our defense take? This whole team was built around Ricky and take the player your team was built around, and you can expect to have a long season. Atleast Tom Donahoe is running the Bills, as long as he is the gm in Buffalo we can expect atleast 2 wins.

Define give up though. Do I still expect ot watch the fins and ENJOY it? Why 100%

But do I think we have a chance of winning the SB?....no.

That doesn't make me a bad fan in the least. It makes me a realist IMO :) i pride myself on knowing football, and I don't watch JUST to see us win the Super bowl (otherwise I woudln't have enjoyed the last how many years?)

I watch because I enjoy football, and love Miami. I love knowing our players and cheering for them week in and week out. I love seeing highlights and cheering for us in and out. I REALLY look forward to this year. So much young blood, many changes on the O, it'll be a blast! Do i think we'll win the SB? hell no. but I'll cheer and scream just the same!

No rebuilding necessary. We have gained in the offseason, and we went 10-6 last year. The departure of Ricky isn't going to hurt as much as it seems. AJ will come up big. I'm a huge fan, and a realistic one at that. The people that are predicting losing records make no sense. Maybe they forget that we played one of the better teams in the NFL last week. We looked far uglier than that at times last year, especially against Tennesse last year.

I will never, ever, give up on the dolphins! I have the team logo tatooed on my chest,
and have been a fan for 34 years! I can't relate to fairweather fans, shame on them.
Go Dolphins!
