In Coyle's Defense...

I get where he was coming from with that first half game plan. We have RJ Stanford starting, they have some speed at WR that could've got open deep, so he wanted to keep that speed in check w/ some deep safteys and assumed our front 7 could handle the run. Not to mention everytime they gashed us on the run the threat for the deep shot got bigger, so I understand why he was slow to react, I think the larger issue is our front 7 getting beasted.

Makes no sense. Coyle ALWAYS does his. The Jets are a great running team. Don't get cute and try to overplan. Gameplan to stop their run and have Geno beat you. Thats what the Bills did and they destroyed the Jets. Coyle gets cute and thinks the Jets are going to have Geno pass all day and then gets punched in the mouth.

Another example is when he has so much faith in his front 4 it hurts us in the long run.

Against passing teams he ALWAYS decides to rush 4 only because he thinks we can get pressure with just them. And everytime they block us effectively and have time to pass. Its when he decides to actually blitz and set up the 4 man rush it works. But he always goes to 4 man rush right away or tries to stunt them out of the play.

And with a healthy O-line the Dolphins would have put 38 on the Jets...but since both teams have to play with who they have available right now we got a 16-13 win by the Dolphins.

I think Coyle could have adjusted to the Jets run sooner than halftime, and question going with his standard sub rotation in Jordan, out worst run defender, in place of Shelby, our best.

After being good for 10 games and years before, Starks has been as bad as bad can be the last 2 games. Is he hurt?

Agree on Coyle having to cover our 2nd CB the last 2 games /with RJ starting after 4 days with the team, and coaches thought he was better than Rose who was there last week. If Finnegen and/or Taylor come back for Balt he will have many more options in bringing an extra guy or two into the box to stop the run. I agreed with this much more vs Denver than the Jets.
