I have always heard watching the games over the years that if your starting qb gets hurt and your backup comes in that doesn't get much reps in practice with the starting guys, that not only will the timing be off but the way the ball comes to the wideout changes dynamically.

So if Ginn and Co. are used to a throw that is soft with touch and then they get hyper and nervous henne in there throwing frozen ropes that aren't exactly accurate, it MAY have contributed to some of the Ginn's drops.

Now I understand Ginn isn't a rookie and he needs to show us what he really brings to the table but this could have presented a problem.

I think it was steve young that actually said this is especially true when you switch from a left handed qb to a right handed one. The spiral on the ball is reversed.

I don't think there is any defense for Ginn in this game. However, I think these cutting/trading Ginn threads are stupid. This is why:

a) he is still better than most of what we have on our roster
b) no one is going to trade anything for him

I think he proved that he is a frustrated #2, not the #1 we were all hoping he'd be. We need to sign a big name WR next year and let Ginn play #2, and Bess #3. If Ginn doesn't shine at #2, with a QB who can throw deep AND a legit #1, then we just make no effort whatsoever to resign him, not even for cheap.

WHAT THE **** where is greg!! He is our best wr why is he sitting down so much? Let him lose he is ready.

I've had enough of Ginn and his whole family. For every good reception...he drops two...he's not proven in almost 2 1/2 years that he can be even a deep threat...never mind a decent better than average receiver.

He'll never be a number 1 receiver...and with some teams he couldn't be a number 2...the only reason he's the Top receiver for the Dolphins is because the Dolphins receivers suck.

That sums it up, good job.

I think Henne threw those passes so low because he knew Ginn was gonna go to the ground anyway

For what it's worth. This was the first time in 32 games, including the playoff loss to Baltimore, that Ginn had been held without a catch. Oakland, in Week 4 of Ginn's rookie season, was the last team to blank him.

that stats really not worth too much because he usually winds up with 2 catches for 20 yards a game.

catching a ball is catching a ball, it is what he gets paid to do, ive had it with that dude dropping balls, when no name receivers that get cut 20 times like greg lewis can make stunning catches in the back of the endzone to win a game. no excuses for this kid anymore, if he didnt have blazing speed he probably would already be unemployed.

Henne hit him in the chest and he dropped it. He had a huge game costing drop last week. Ginn is not an NFL quality receiver.

im not even sold on him as a number 2 to be honest with u

hes gotten a little better at running routes but he doesnt get wide open or blaze defenders to the point where hes running by himself downfield. He doesnt make EASY catches, therefore we know he aint gonna make the tough ones. He gets no YAC and shows no playmaking ability, what is he good for? He doesnt even return kicks, which i really dont even care about because he looks timid as hell when he does.

He's shown he can run by people! he has done it already on more than one occassion! first penny cant get it there and second we havent even made it an option yet to hit him long...our recieves suck, yeah i agree, but all you guys are like ginn has to make every spectacular play and ALL the catches. its bc of the offense! and our limitations at qb! that ginn isnt playing to his potential!!!.

Im sure if u put Usain Bolt in uniform he would run past people too but can he catch the ball???

:ponder:Im not sure but...didnt Pennington throw one too far for Ginn today? I dont think its Pennys arm so i dont think anyone can use that excuse anymore. Its just not correct because he threw that one pretty far, too far for the fast Ted Ginn.

and  @ the 3rd bolded part...he doesnt have to make ALL the catches? we would just like him to make catches in general but REAL wide receivers make those catches that he dropped and much harder ones than those.

please all you people defending Ted Ginn as a number one receiver please compare him to other number one receivers in the league and see how he matches up...Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson, Chad Johnson...and thats just the Johnsons...they make ALL the catches, thats the difference between an average wide receiver and a GOOD/GREAT wide receiver.

Enough of defending Ginn. The guy is paid to catch the ball. People forget how we complained about Chambers. For what? No catching the ball. Sorry. No easing up on Ginn. Only he can silence his critics.
