I liked the Renaldo Hill signing, having watched him play when he played for the Cardinals here in AZ. Supposedly he'll put in time at the saftey position, but I'm still not satisfied. Are there any Palomalou types in the draft this year?

i do like whitner alot and jason allen. both could play safety or corner. both can hit and are ball hawks.

I was hoping that Deke Cooper would have signed, because I liked him last year, and he would have been a good fit. Would at least help out.

Jimmy Williams...he's being touted as a CB, but he did play safety and excelled at it... If he's there at # 16, it will be tough to pass up on him.

It all depends what Saban wants to address...looks like with CB, safety, WR and LB, there should be some quality players available.

I agree, but as oldfinfan said, if Jimmy Williams is there at 16 it'll be tough to pass on him. I would be fine with any of the three.

thing is williams in a free fall right now down draft boards. he interviewed poorly. his workout wasnt all that great and alot of teams view him strictly as a safety prospect now. 16 may end up being to high . alot of drafts, kipers the latest ive read has him down to the bengals.

Right now, there is so much speculation on when players will be picked, that it is difficult to predict...there are dozens of mock drafts out there and all of them have different ideas. I think there will be some surprises on 4/29.

True, but we need a safety, I feel that Williams would be a good fit, especially with Saban coaching him up. Saban also drafted two guys with some character issues last year in Crowder and Roth - I'm not sure how they interviewed, but I wouldn't be opposed to taking the risk of taking Williams at 16.

i definitely argee with the surprise thing. however from what i read, one of the surprises is that jimmy williams is going to fall.

we do need a safety, yes. thing is there are better safety prospects such as jason allen and donte whitner. both are versatile enough to play cornerback and safety. williams seems to be just a safety prospect and thats it. as for the character thing, crowder and roth weer involved in some bar room fights and thats it. werent really big character issue guys. now im not opposed to taking williams, i just think there is a lower risk with allen and whitner.

i think jimmy williams would be a great safety may not be the fastest corner but he would be a real fast safety and he is a solid and agrresive player

He can still sign with us, he haven't signed with another team... did he?

i do respect Palo for his speed and his ability to be everywhere at once, but don't you guys think Ronnie could run right over his small body? I couldn't imagine him tackling Ronnie by himself.

Haven't both of them had major injuries - Whitner a knee and Allen his hip? I'd be happy with either of the two, don't get me wrong, it just seems there are other risks in taking the two.
