I am one of the few on this board who would support the Miami organzation at making a run for RG 3. I think Griffin, is that good. He is worth every pick Miami must give up to get him. The way I look at this is very simple. Miami Has basically four options beside Griffin for thier QB. Peyton Manning, being the obvious pick and hope for most Dolphin fans. Matt Flynn, who might turn on to be AJ Feely all over again or might fool us all and turn into the next Matt Schaub. Ryan Tannehill, A great QB who might need a year or two of seasoning behind a veteran Qb. Last but not least, Matt Moore who played very well last year, considered the situation he was thrown into.

All of those candiates are special players. Manning to me would be the obvious pick for Steven Ross. For starters; Manning would sell tickets and sell out home games. That's a plus. He is going to be a hall of fame Qb as well. We would be nuts not to listen to him if he was interested in playing for us-right? Thru it all I am a true Dolphin fan and I want to see this organzation succeed and win the super bowl again. My argument aganist Peyton is not only will he turn 36 in a few weeks but how bad of shape is his neck in? No one knows that answer but him. To me, I see Manning as a stop gap. That's all. We would be lucky to get 2 heathly seasons out of him compared to Griffin, who imo is that franchise QB, we have been looking for since Dan Marino left. Who is to say, I will be right in my prediction of Griffin but dammit man, isn't it time to make a bold move and just go for it.

Joe Montana had two injury filled season with the Chiefs and yes they did make the playoffs in both of his two seasons, there but in the end, they went nowhere. They didn't even reach the AFC championship game. To me, that is all I see with Manning. More or less another stop gap. I think if the Dolphins sign him then so be it, I will support it but if they trade some picks and move up to snag Griffin, I do think we would be better off. Griffin to me is an impact player. The QB role and position is changing right before our eyes. Look at what Cam Newton did for a sorry Carolina Panther team. He took them form one win to six wins in one season. Their offense, thanks to him nearly doubled thier production in yards and scoring. Not bad, wouldn't you agree. In the end,Griffin to me will be a better player then Newton. When and if you get Griffin, you QB problem would nto be solved for only two years but for beyond that. If they sign Manning, then in two years from now, we will be in the same situation we are in now. Isn't it time to stop this and finally take control of our desnity.

With all due respect to Matt Flynn fans out there. I think he scares me the most. He started two games aganist garbage defenses in New England and Detroit. Just not sure to make a large investment on him. Tannehill is a nice player but with that said, I want to win now. I just don't see him ready for a full season of the nfl in the 2012 campaign. He is more like Jake Locker, where he proble needs a year to learn the system and the speed of the NFL.

Matt Moore is a great QB, problem is, he is more of a backup QB to me. No way I want to see him start another game for this team. That leaves me to believe, RG 3 would be the best fit for this team. As I said, before whatever picks you give up to get him, they will be worth it. Let's be honest, No one can sit here and tell me if Griffin will be bad or not. My argument is, why are people so aganist giving up picks for him when you also can't tell me the picks that they would give up for him, would pan out neither. Let's remember some of our drafts over the last few seasons have stuck. Very little production coming out of it. Why not trade up for him and see what happens. I say it's the only way this organzation can move on and have thier franchise QB then have been lacking for years.

I know I will get flamed by a lot of posters on here and that is fine. This is just my honest thoughts about why it would be wise to get RG 3. Like I said before, if Miami doesn't draft him and signs either Manning or Flynn, I still will support this team and hope for the best.

Robert Griffith was a good safety back in the day, but now he's washed up. Just kidding I agree mostly. I would want to have rg3 the most if peyton is not deemed healthy by our front office. If he is I would rather have manning and draft tannehill

He would be at the top of my list as well. I think the problem is mainly that Stephen Ross wants Peyton Manning. That may make it hard for Jeff Ireland to make the move for Robert Griffin III. One thing I like about bringing in RGIII is that his salary cap figure, at least initially, won't be that much in comparison to other years with the new collective bargaining agreement. This essentiall means the Dolphins would have money to spend in free agency. The team could sign Paul Solai, extend Jake Long and Cameron Wake and bring in a couple of free agents.

Huge write I'm going to read... But how do you possibly do all this homework on how much we should spend on a guy and not even friggen know his name??? Hahahaha its griffin... Please edit that or you will lose credibility within a few sentenses. I like griffin too but can't hate manning if that happens. But I don't want flynn. Not sold on tannahill... Maybe a back up for manning and develop him. But a back up at 8 hard sell. Griffin or luck at 2. Works for me.

I think there is no doubt that Miami will throw all that they have for RG3 if we dont get Manning.

Didnt have chance to proof read :)

I want this guy bad also. Im sick of holding back and not getting our franchise Qb. We need to make our move now and stop getting everyone else's retreads.

:chuckle:

i agree 100% its pretty much rg3 or bust. Dont really see anyone else that could ignite the fan base and electrify this team. Id rather stick with matt moore if we cant get rg3

I see no argument as to why you think RGIII will be a franchise QB. I only see why you don't want other QBs. Sell me on why RGIII is going to be a franchise QB.

To start with he has all the intangibles that you look for in the position. That basically means that he will work hard and lead others to do the same. That is crucial in the qb position and something that we definitely all marvel about with Peyton Manning. His athletic ability will help him to extend plays and make something out of nothing. That's what separates the great qb's from the rest of the pack. Robert Griffin III may be the most athletic qb to come into the league. He is very accurate and his deep ball is a thing of beauty. Overall, I think his work ethic will get him through some rough patches as he learns the position. And, of course, going to the right coaching staff -- one that isn't afraid to make use of his skill set -- is crucial. There are no guarantees of course and I do wonder how he will hold up physically as he needs to learn not to always go for that extra yard (get down) when he is outside the pocket. But this is a guy with electrifying talent and I would be so excited to see what he could do in a Joe Philibin offense.

sounds good and all but one question. what offense are you going to run if you get him. because he sure doesnt fit the offense of the coach we just hired. plus that new coach has had a pretty successful time with his offense, thats why he got the job. and now you want to make him try to make up a whole new offense just to fit one guy who doesnt fit his offense.

look rg3 throws a great deep ball. but rg3 doesnt take snaps from under center , isnt a drop back qb, has no experience in a 3, 5 or 7 step timing offense. plus the best thing that hes good at, throwing the deep ball, isnt excatly a staple of the wco.

i know he looks great on the highlight reel, but he doesnt fit our new offense at all.
