In my opinion, Miami should do everything in thier power, to land RG 3

Joe Montana had two injury filled season with the Chiefs and yes they did make the playoffs in both of his two seasons, there but in the end, they went nowhere. They didn't even reach the AFC championship game. To me, that is all I see with Manning. More or less another stop gap.

This statement is false. Montana signed with the Chiefs and led them to the AFC championship game his first year there in 1993. This run included 2 Montana comeback wins in the 4th quarter in the playoff games leading up to the AFC championship game. Old guys can still ball. Our team's skills players are in the prime of their careers. Let's give them a solid 3 year run at a superbowl with Manning. It only costs us money. If RG3 takes 2-3 years to develop, Marshall's contract will be up, Bush will hit the RB 30 year old wall, Long will leave for more money elsewhere, and we would have 2 years with diminished drafting abilities.

Any chance Indy takes RG3 and Luck is there at #2. If #18 is not healthy i would go get the #2 pick.
I wouldnt give up picks like Ditka did. We will see what happens. Its damm exciting.

sounds good and all but one question. what offense are you going to run if you get him. because he sure doesnt fit the offense of the coach we just hired. plus that new coach has had a pretty successful time with his offense, thats why he got the job. and now you want to make him try to make up a whole new offense just to fit one guy who doesnt fit his offense.

look rg3 throws a great deep ball. but rg3 doesnt take snaps from under center , isnt a drop back qb, has no experience in a 3, 5 or 7 step timing offense. plus the best thing that hes good at, throwing the deep ball, isnt excatly a staple of the wco.

i know he looks great on the highlight reel, but he doesnt fit our new offense at all.

Griffin is the type of player where he could adapt to Philbin offense. He is that good. Who is to say, he can't learn Philbin's offense or be the perfect fit for it. Give him a chance. His athletic ability and skills are elite. He is the exciting piece we have been missing for years. I say trading for him would be in this team's best interest.

It's a shame Barkley didn't come out: we'd have the same shot at him that we now have to get RG3. IMO he could end up the best of those Top3 and is the one I'd most enthusiastically pursue. (Hopefully we won't come close to having shot at him next season). Barkley's availability would also likely have made our ability to trade for MN's pick somewhat less expensive and competitive.

Ok so Montana did reach the afc Champ game. My apolgizes. Why do people think it is going to take Griffin 2-3 years to learn how to play football in the NFL? I give up really? Didn't anyone see what Newton did last year in Carolina, with a lesser team on offense. He made them explosive and resurected Steve Smith. Griffin is just as good or better then Newton. We can make a run with him right now. Rg 3, Marshall, Bush and a good defense. We could add a few more pieces and we would be ready to rock. No one said old guys can't ball, all I am saying that we will be looking for another QB, in 2-3 years if we sign Manning. Isn't that getting old by now? Why not take a different approach and draft RG 3.

This crap is so stupid.

If the Dolphin were in position to draft this kid it's one thing, but they aren't, FGS, get over it. Forget about RG, he isn't going to be a Dolphin.

I think we have to approach this in logical order. First off is the start of free agency. We basically have two options here. Either sign Manning, who probably will cost us around $15 million a year, or sign Flynn, who probably will cost less....$10 million/year is what I have heard. I would first try to sign Manning. If we cannot sign him than make Flynn a nice offer. If we cannot get either than we have to look at the draft. I don't think RG3 is a sure thing, but I don't think RG3 will be a bust like Ryan Leaf or JaMarcus Russell. But RG3 would probably cost us our first three picks this year, and maybe a #1 pick next year. I think if I were the GM and we couldn't get Manning, Flynn or draft RG3...then I would look at drafting Tannehill or Weeden.

Nothing against Griffin, it's just the historic trend for rookies. No one really comes in and plays the game at a superbowl caliber level until about their 3rd year. You could argue Big Ben, but most would agree his defense had more to do with his first superbowl than he did. Manning was a polished QB coming out of college and his first 2 years were not superbowl caliber. Newton had a fantastic year for a rookie, but he still threw INT's in bunches and personally lost a handful of games for his team with poor decision making. As good as he was, he was not going to lead a team to a superbowl and he has a ways to develop. I don't expect the panthers to be superbowl contenders next year, so he's on track for the 2-3 year plan. If you threw Newton, RG3, or Andrew Luck onto any of the top tier teams and asked them to replace Brees, Rodgers, Brady, etc. I would not expect them to produce similar results immediately, so even with all the talent in the world surrounding him, how could you expect RG3 to hit the ground running and have us in contention for a SB right off the bat?

Man Im excited with the idea of Manning but Griffin 3 is what we need in the long run that kid looks hungry for sucess.

The guy IMO is gonna be a stud listening to him talk you know the guy is smart he has the ability to throw and run I personally think he is a better QB coming out of college then Michael Vick he may not be as fast but I think he is every bit as good if not better then vick

ok so we agree that in Philbin's offence that rg3 is a project. it is an offense that he has never ran and he has no experience doing any of the basic things that come with that offense. if we were running a spread offence then yes you make a play for him, but to think that a first time head coach is going to change everything he did to get the job for a project qb is foolish.

you dont give up the kind of picks that it would take to get him for a project. theres a reason he was projected to be drafted as a wr. hes a 1 year wonder. we should be very afraid of those just ask the jets.

Err. One year wonder? Do you watch CFB.

He was also projected as a WR his TRUE,freshman year.

lol at rg3 projected to be a wr stop it already! lmao tbh, id take rg3 over luck. I wouldnt put it past the colts.

Rg3 has taken snaps under center , as Baylor runs a pro style within their spread offense. If Rg3 does not fit in Philbin's system why are the Browns , and Skins involved in talks as they all run west coast as well? Manning is the one you would have to change the system for , and for the record I would go all in for Rg3 also.
