The haircut looks good, but am I the only one who finds it EXTREMELY ironic that a dude with the username NRA finds having dreads immature?

I tend to think most people look better with shorter hair, but it's an issue of taste. NOT maturity.

The only thing silly in this thread is that you care so much about what another grown man does to his hair.

POCKET POOL:

check yer "facts" bub, i didnt start this thread.

TO ALL: had you read my second post on this, you would have saw that i mentioned "not everyone wearing dreds or long hair is a thug or low life"........... [but, many are.]

and my other pont: we have FREEDOM OF CHOICE, but, all choices come with consequences. some good, some bad. no way around that. a MATURE person checks himself at a certain point in life and tailors his look and attitude to further his successes or goals. or just changes because the things he/she thought as as young person [usually adopted from a media or sports or entertainment personality] wasnt the correct course as an adult, they move away from it.

some dont.

and my most important point in it all, its fine for a young kid to express himself [to a point] and find out who he/she is. no big consequenses other than cops and store security taking a closer look, older folks crossing the street when they see you coming. why? because your living off mom and dads dime. you dont have to pay rent, buy your food, your clothes. pay a car payment with gas, maintenance, insurance. they take care of your health with THEIR work insurance policies. all you have to do is x-box, read tupacs biography, eat frozen burritos, smoke out and fill your ears with new fidypuffdog or korndeathmachine cd!

but, then your out of the house. adult hood awaits. your future is on you. how is that look going to affect all that? whos gonna buy the burritos and fresh kicks? lotsa bux. takes a lot of cash to live decent. a good paying job. then you find out quick that car wash gig [thanx to that cool dude with dreds on one side and bald with tatts on the other hired you] or that late night, part time dish washing gig at the truck stop isnt providing the sweet life you expected. cant be the look though!! that straight, conservative dude who passed you over for that aprenctice gig is the reason. their ALL against me!!!

thats when a mature person checks himself and takes stock of his/her life and how he effects others. how HE/SHE is effecting their own livelyhood and future.

some, unfortunatly never get it and then its society's fault, the police, racist whitie, the government, global warming, wall street, and that EEEEEVIL tea party!

ALL OF US are judged by many things, on many levels. you cant change it. we all do it. and some of the judgement is wrong, some of it spot on. FREEDOM OF CHOICE! it can sure be a bitch though if you let yourself drown in the wrong "freedoms" and refuse to grow.

been there.

some of you need lives

but...... here is GREYBOY taking part in this thread.

he has a life, obviously.

its called, GROWING UP!! MATURING!!

good for devon. and obviously, its important for him to be a GOOD role model.

that crap looked SILLY and its bad enough on a teenager or young adult, but as a man, a true adult, theres NO place for it.

you listening OMAR?

i bet you look real mature. prob. a big beer gut, receding hairline, redneck twang. i can dig it. maturity.

I guess a beer belly could be chalked up to lack of responsibility/maturity but a receding hairline and an accent?! NRA at least made sense, twang and all!

Dreads are a cultural thing. Saying they are immature or show a lack of professionalism is ignorant and ethnocentric. There's really no other way to say it. I've never ever met a person who was defined as a person by their hair. Trying to do so reflects moreso on the person making the judgement than the person with the dreadlocks. The whole judging a book by it's cover metaphor comes to mind here...
