Ok so it has been a long time since I've had a look at the boards but I have been meaning to do this post for some time.

I can just imagine that there have been similar posts but this is all about peoples opinion so I render mine for better or for worse.

Although it has only been 5 games you have to respect this man. Just listen to his press conferences, he doesn't spout the usual "coach speak" "we have to give 110%" garbage. He talks about teaching and communication etc.

The recent deal of Feeley is more evidence that he has a plan and understands the salary cap and what the future is.

IMO this franchise has the leader to bring them out of the wilderness, no Super Bowl promises but he will get the job done.

I posted something similar about listening to his press conferences and teaching these players how to be accountable to themselves and the team. How to learn how to WIN properly.

I concur totally. Saban has done all things right for the future of this franchise. I cant argue with his approach to date.

How can anyone judge his player moves and trades? We were are 4-12 franchise and have alot of holes still. We are getting better but if you dont think moving players and freeing up cap space and getting or giving picks to improve the total picture isnt what is necessary in this day and age you are living in a past decade of what it took to win in the NFL.

Saban hasnt made a bad move yet....sit back and watch, listen, learn.

To add to your post, by trading AJ now, it also avoids any future banter in the press/fans/team about whether to put him in the game in view of how poorly Gus is playing...that's good for the moral of the team, (I guess), but I kind of see it has him giving up on the season already...It's unlikely that Lemon can contribute this year and Sage is as unknown as AJ was...so that leaves us with a fading, inaccurate Gus...But, there won't be any BS about whether to put AJ in or not....

Larry -

I know your not a Gus fan, and I dont know if you were totally sold on AJ.

But no way does trading AJ indicate Saban is giving up on the season. He inherited alot more than a 4-12 team. He is changing a mindset and a culture that was drastically removed from the glories of our past.

Saban has to make these moves to rid not only the contract but by doing so he isnt really changing the overall talent for the worse that much right now. I think the talent will eventually change for the better, maybe not because of Lemon but based on these type of win-win situations (free up cap, get a body to do the same that Feeley would have done...hold the clipboard till further notice).

And thats not all new folks, its about players that remain as well. He is teaching these players how to win, and win correctly. So yes, you can argue and say 2-3 means we havent won but twice, and we have lost 3 times.....if you are only measuring Saban's winning attitude by the scoreboard in his first season.

I am not. I am measuring him in other types of wins. Wins like salary cap, draft picks, attitude to draw in new FA's, and accountablity to ones actions to let everyone of these current players that remain with him know that they have to produce correctly in his scheme to become Champions.

A win on the scoreboard alone is wonderful for a FANs ego. But its not going to build a winning franchise and a championship franchise if the win is sloppy or undeciplined.

Give Saban time to teach them how to win correctly, and the winning record will come, and the championships will come. I am tired of winning sloppy in all the facets of the franchise...cause all that leads to is a potenital playoff spot for the players to only be embarrassed 62-7.

Lets start winning in all facets (the way the franchise started with Shula), and not by the scoreboard alone, and then lets watch the championship attitude take root for a new generation of fans as well.

Things had to change, they are going to for the longterm, dont be judgemental on the instant gradification needs.

I completely disagreee, tdading AJ was a good move and it means he is comitted to improving this team (getting rid of useless players that have cap implications). no way does this mean he`s given up on the season already
