Can the removal of a crippled Dante really improve our team? If so, when are the coaches going to realize that Dante is having trouble out there by leading our offense. Maybe a healthy Joey can make a difference.

or maybe an offensive line that knows how to block could help

Yeh I agree with that. When the oline improves its amazing how much better this offense will look, just watch (IF it actually gets better). Good post.

I agree 100% with your comment about the o-line. Getting sacked 5 times a game would make any quarterback look bad.

One problem with that scenario, Joey Harrington isn't Tom Brady.

But then again who was Tom Brady before Bledsoe went down

cmon guys the oline is fine, daunte sucks and joey is the second coming of tom brady.

hmmm. thats what it feels like to be uninformed and unreasonable. yuck

Good point, but three Super Bowl wins later I think it's safe to say that Tom Brady had "it" and all of those football scouts just flat out missed it. Tom just needed his chance to shine.

Joey, on the other hand, has already had his chance to lead a team and failed to do it.

Whether it's skill or intangibles, any attempt at comparing the 2 quarterbacks and their situations is simply laughable.

I truly believe it would make a difference if we would put in Joey Harrington and sit out Culpepper.

Culpepper just doesn't seem ready to be out there playing football. He doesn't look poised in the pocket. More times than not he always throws it to the checkdown reciever. I dont' recall seeing him air any out this entire year and that's what he does best. Culepper just doesn't seem confident to be out there leading our team to victory.

Harrington on the other hand , has nothing to lose. In preaseason(yes in preaseson) he came out in the 2nd half against the panthers and drove us down field for a touchdown in about 2 minutes, something Daunte didn't do that entire game. Harrington isn't scared to take a risk. I just think he'd be the better quarterback untill Culpepper can get his old mentality back and start playing good Culpepper football.

You know what?

Look, regardless of it being Joey Harrington or Duante Culpepper behind center for us we are not going to win the superbowl this year. Not with this O-line and secondary. We are not better than Cincinnatti, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Seattle, or Philidelphia for example this year regardless of who is behind center for us.

Joey H might be a good QB for us. But then again, so might Duante. Duante has shown that he can be prolific, Joey has not. So, I ask you, if we don't really have a chance to do any real damage in the playoffs or superbowl this year, then shouldn't we invest in Duante and see if by playing more and putting him in situations where he can succeed he can at some point regain the form that had many of us so excited when we acquired him? If we can get him to improve and be the QB that he once was, I think we'll be a better team for it in the long run if not at some point by the end of this season. That possibility is worth it in my opinion to stick with him for many more games. Just my two cents...
