In the Trenches

This game was lost in the trenches plain and simple. True there were mistakes made at other positions, but those will happen during any game. There was a total lack of pass rush each and every time that CP sat back to throw. Most any QB that is NFL caliber should be able to sit back and make big throws when they have that kind of time. Missed assignments on O were another downfall for us in this game. Establishing the running game helps the passing game and/or establishing the passing game helps the running game. We will continue to be a subpar team as long as there is no push from our line on either side of the ball. Fixing that is a lot easier said than done, but until we get that we won't be able to properly make any other observations of personel at other areas. Its really hard to say who played poorly and who didn't, such as Brown, without looking at the line first.

Run blocking was atrocious as usual. Saban keeps talking about this team forming an identity -- he should start with helping the offensive line develop a much tougher one. They get pushed around game after game.
