In the Sporting News this week there were some articles about the Fins
i don't know if anyone has posted them if not here they are.

3 players ready to rise to new hieghts next season.

Roy Williams-Lions-----D.Ware -Boys

Ronnie Brown---Miami---With the potential trade of Ricky Williams, there's a good chance Brown will carry the load for the playoff-minded Dolphins. Brown has the recieving skills to complement his ability to pound as a runner, but he must shake his fumbling problems. Considering he rushed for 907 yards as a rookie despite splitting carries with Williams, its realistic to expect Brown to gain 1,600 - plus yards from scrimmage if he gets 350 - plus touches.

Article No 2. Mock Draft
i'm not going to list all the choices just Miami's
at 16 Jay Cutler-----Will fall out of top 10 once the hype dies down, much to Miami's delight ( There words not mine )

Article No 3.....Not enough touches to go around

The Dolphins are concerned about how long RB's R.Williams and R.Brown will be happy splitting carries. It worked well last season, when Brown was adjusting to the NFL,but at some point, one player needs to be the primary ballcarrier. There is increasing curiosity around the league about what it would cost to acquire R.Williams, who probably would welcome a trade because it would give him a chance to get a new contract

does 4 fumbles really equal a fumbling problem?

I just don't see the love affair with Cutler he reminds me of Alex Smith. But If Saban drafts him, who am I to argue. As for the splitting the carries thing, the Steelers didn't have a problem with it, neither did the Chiefs!!

Not neccasarily. But the fact he split carries and had fewer touches than your typical feature back, then it can be looked at as a concern that will be taken care of during Ronnie's first full camp.

apparently you are not aware of things. For the chiefs it was an issue as LJ started speaking out about being very unhappy and how he thinks he deserves to be carrying the load and for the steelers it wasn't an issue cuz th ebus was used mainly when they had the lead and goal line situations to waste time and he didnt care cuz his body was dieing on him.

Keep on mind that one of those fumbles was actually a terrible call that should have been called a TD and in 2 of the other 3 he was very close to be down by contact.....I don't think it'll be a problem.

No, but they had to find something!!

haha...i like your theory....

Although, this is the third or fourth time I have seen someone citing this as a problem of ronnies, I dont know what gives!!

trying to rember the 4 fumbles last year, i think 2 were Helmet on ball as ronnie was breaking through the line, its hard to keep the ball when you have a linebacker 240 somthing spearing the ball out,

He bears no resemblance to Alex Smith. Did you bring this up just to make an argument of convenience?
Smith had one good year and came out early. There were some questions about his arm strength.
Cutler had a good Jr year and followed it up with a good Sr. year despite playing with inferior talent around him.
Unlike Smith, there are no questions regarding Cutler's arm strength and ability to make every throw required of an NFL player.
Cutler also did not play in a gimmick offense like Smith did.

Most of Ronnie's fumbles were correctable. They weren't like Ricky's used to, for example, where the ball just came out from time to time. Ronnie's fumbles generally occured after he made some spin moves or was making moves to gain extra yardage.

This happens to all players, not just rookies. I'm not excusing it. It's just something that a good percentage of players don't do well. And that's keep a portion of their mind focused on ball security when they're acting and reacting to oncoming defenders.

I tell ya, if I were a coach, my team would be damn strong in regards to ball security. It kills me to know see a fumble about to happen.

One good thing about Ronnie on the issue of fumbles is that he had very, very good ball security during his whole college career. I dont rember what the stats were but they are very good. I think this year was more an issue of a rookie just pressing and trying to do too much.

I disagree!!
