Two big plays stood out. One was a really nice over the shoulder catch by Teyo Johnson and the next was when Deke Cooper jumped to the inside of his man and returned the int for a TD. Today I read that they were both cut??

I don;t know about Deke. But Teyo showed too little too late.

Who was the quarterback who threw the int... and was it the 3rd string Rams recievers and offense?:rolleyes2please

Regardless it was still a nice play which showed some instinct necessary to play the position.

Deke was the only safety on the roster who could hit. No receiver in the league is afraid to go across the middle with Tillman and Hill lurking there..ooohh...

One good play against another team's 3rd stringers/practice-squad isn't going to impress the coaches.

yeah i was also totally stunned by coopers omission from the team i thought he had a shot at starting and he played consistently well throughout the preseason but with teo he wasnt that good and was beaten out by peele and i thought rader would have stayed to

Ok, so preseason games are totally useless

Dave Ragone went 0/7 with 1 INT...Deke's INT.

He was garbage. Maybe that's why it wasn't enough.

Saban wants play on a consistent basis...

This is also why Cliff Russell didn't get cut...He barely drops the football..

Wow, dude. two plays at the end of the most meaningless pre-season game there is (in terms of guaging your competition, anyway) is not going to get you a roster spot.

Still I thought that a big play or plays make a meaningful difference. How many of our DB's returned an int for a TD this preseason, regardless of what string team they are on? Also Johnsons catch was not easy and showed a real skill. Anyhow I hope that our much maligned secondary is up to the task since we're ready to line it up for real in 3 days.
