can an inactive player play if one of the other players is injured? Or can he not play in that game at all.

Inactive means he won't see any action this week, he can't play.

Only an inactive QB can play & that's if the other two QBs get hurt. Though if an inactive QB plays the first stringer can't be put back in the game later.

thanks. I just dont understand why though they have a rule like this. Every player on the roster should be able to play. I mean 53 players is not very much considering how brutal football is.

the rule allows to dress out 54 men
