I'm sure some of you remember that thread where I outed Richie's dad for posting here on Finheaven.

http://www.finheaven.com/showthread...ot-racially-charged-quot-texts-and-voicemails

My initial suspicion surfaces in post 43. By post 58 -- half an our or so later -- I've pretty much got it nailed down. Full credit to Awsi Dooger for being the first poster to share my suspicions -- before I had the "proof", so to speak.

So the night I dug it up I had a few laughs about it, then at the last minute before going to bed I emailed Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald with a heads up. Basically a "hey, this probably happened, if you want more info I've got more" kind of thing.

But by the time I woke up four of five hours later the thing had -- much to my surprise -- already gone viral on Deadspin. That was confusing and surreal -- I hadn't contacted Deadspin -- until a friend who posts on the SomethingAwful forums told me that someone had seen my posts here and reposted it there, which led to the story getting on Reddit, and then Deadspin... and then the world, basically. A search for "Incognito" and "finheaven" now returns like 30,000+ hits.

Even "Incognito" and "TheWalrus" returns like 4500 hits, which seems just weird to me.

Anyway, here's the original Deadspin post: http://deadspin.com/is-richie-incognitos-dad-blasting-jonathan-martin-on-m-1457997230

So now that the end of the year is here Deadspin has compiled it's 101 post popular stories of the year. And guess what made the top 20?

Sorry if this seems like patting my own back. I just think it's damn funny.

Sorry you couldn't beat out his daughter's Christmas list (which was sheer hilarity, BTW).

My reactions to that ref story:

Player punches ref:

Ref pulls out knife and stabs player to death:

Fans stone/draw and quarter/place refs head on a spike:

That's one of those things where you remember where you were and what you were doing when it happened. EPIC

EPIC Mother****er.

Not too shabby for one of Finheavens worst posters. Good stuff.

A few weeks after this whole thing broke I emailed Adam Beasley to ask him if he'd heard anything through the grapevine from Incognito's family about the story. His response:

Nothing yet...not a word.

The funny thing is, there is always a conspiracy theory, but how often do they end up being for real?

I don't think this qualifies as a conspiracy theory. It's conjecture, but it's not like there isn't ample circumstantial evidence, and it also doesn't fly in the face of received wisdom or any currently leading theory. Adam Beasley told me after checking more into it -- with resources beyond my disposal -- that he was 99 percent sure the posts were made by Incognito's father.

Perhaps you're referring more to what Incognito's father was suggesting, that Martin's had a gun to his head and does drugs with Pouncey? That's more of a conspiracy theory than the trail of evidence leading to his computer.

I'm just saying that it's not outside the norm for people to wonder if people from inside the organization or on here, the same can be said for any fan forum for any team. But in this case, it was real, and how often does that happen? That's my only point. It's fascinating to me.

Funny thing is, if the guy really was Incog's dad, he was still right about the line and how many of the players would play the entire season.
