INDIANAPOLIS, In. (March 1, 2006) -- Many Colts have found themselves saying their goodbyes to all their former teammates. Although many others have begun to say their hellos. The Indianapolis Colts many acquisitions over the offseason thus far. The Colts sent away their slot receiver, Brandon Stokley to the Jets, in hopes of finding a gem in the 2nd round. And although losing some key defensive players, including Mike Doss, Montae Reagor, and Nick Harper, the Colts have brought in Ken Lucas, Nick Barnett, and Mark Roman. The Indianapolis Colts would also like to welcome former University of Iowa halfback, Fred Russell to the team. With Free Agency near, Indianapolis has approximately 5 million to spend on FA and rookies.

Indianapolis Sign Eleven In Free Agency

INDIANAPOLIS, In. (March 11, 2006) -- Colts General Manager GridIronKing34 set out to find some veteren leadership to their defense in free agency. His answers were found in the form of S Lance Schulters and OLB Jamie Sharper. Schulters, an eight year vet, was sign to a one year contract with the Dolphins where he made 77 tackles, 2 sacks, and 4 interceptions. Schulters will work the backfield with All-Pro safety, Bob Sanders. Jamie Sharper was added to squad as well, Sharper, a nine year vet, was released by the Seahawks, where he had an below average performance, only playing half the season. Sharper has been considered a playmaker at the linebacker position, with over 850 tackles and 25 sacks in his career.
A few players were re-signed to contracts, including kicker Mike Vanderjagt, who has spent his -- career with the Colts. The special teams unit was given a boost as special teams aces Koren Robinson and Az-Zahr Hakim were signed to the squad, adding speed to the wide receiver corps as well. New starters were assigned as the Colts signed offensive guard Kris Dielman and corners backs Duane Starks and Roderick Hood. Others signed include defensive end Alvin McKinney, safety Mark Roman, quarterback Seneca Wallace, and tight end Ernie Conwell.
