This may come across as a ludicrous survey... but believe it or not there is a lot of debate in San Diego as to what we should do regarding our QB situation. Some are claiming that while Drew Brees is good, he is not great... and believe that Philip Rivers should be given the reigns. Others believe that Brees has shown himself to be a top 10 or even top 5 QB in the NFL and statistically, the odds of Rivers being better are rather remote.

Anyway... I have already gotten my response from the Detroit Lions

I'm curious... if you had the opportunity to obtain either Drew Brees or Philip Rivers, which would you take... and why?

Brees. He has already shown that he is a very good Qb. Rivers might be good but he might be a bust. If the Chargers are watching Brees win playoff games with another franchise while Rivers is stinking up the joint everyone in that front office is going to be looking for work.
 
You guys have been looking for "the guy" for years, you finally have him, and now you want to start the process over again? I only wish we had a QB of Brees caliber.
 
I tend to agree... and that's why I find it a pretty silly debate myself. Consensus around the league (I live in Detroit and have a 100% answer from approx. 120 fans so far) seems to favor Brees. I just wonder why it's such a debate in San Diego, when the rest of the league considers it a no-brainer. Very, very odd...
