as unfortunate as it is, poole isnt the only player on our roster that will be lost for the season. lets just hope things dont turn out as bad this year as last year ( injury wise )

Dude. I'd really like to hope there won't be another SEASON ending injury sheesh. Injuries do happen, but to say another severe one will is kinda negative.

im not wishing it on anyone, but its going to happen, thats the nature of the beast. remember how violent this game is dude

injuries are part of the game, you will have more when preseason is going on, the pats will have some, and all the other teams will have their share..

thats why depth is so key....

to me you guys seem thin now with the secondary but you can always pick up t buck again and some other f a's
one main reason the pats have had success is their depth, the last 2 sb seasons they had a ton of injuires, in 2003 they had a league high 42 or so starters miss games, thne last year with the key starters out in the secondary, and semour out for the colts and pitt games....

Injuries are a given in the NFL. It's not a matter of "if" but when and how bad. To me, the depth seems better this season than ever before. This is the Pats lineup of back-ups right now.
QB -Doug Flutie*
RB -Kevin Faulk
WR -David Terrell
WR -Bethel Johnson
TE -Christian Fauria
FB -Dan Klecko
LT -Logan Mankins
LG -Nick Kaczur
C -Russ Hochstein
RG -Gene Mruczkowski
RT -Tom Ashworth

DE -Marquise Hill
NT -Ethan Kelley
DE -Jarvis Green
OLB -Rosevelt Colvin
ILB -Chad Brown
ILB -Monty Beisel
OLB -Tully Banta-Cain
CB -Tyronne Poole
SS -James Sanders
FS -Chad Scott*
CB Duane Starks

Rohan Davey is listed as the #2 QB right now but I think that is for who gets dressed, not who plays in case injuries. Chad Scott is listed as the 5th or 6th corner but I heard that he'll be switched to free safety. If he makes the team, it will be as a safety, not a cornerback.

i agree. panicking isnt going to help things. will poole, while a talented youngster is not going to make or break our season, i do wish him the vest of luck with his rehab, hopefully it isnt as bad as they think and hell be on the field this season, he definetly has alot of potential

2 years ago new england had the most injuries ive ever seen. living in RI i heard it all the time. even this season, cmon earthwind moreland in the secondary, and troy brown. seriously thompson is horrible, hes not gonna make that catch to beat the pats on monday nite if hes being covered by a real db who understands technique and the position. bill just plugs pieces in and chugs along its amazing

One of the smartest things I've heard in awhile... You're absolutely right, there's going to a season ending injury (or injuries) every year. Unfortuately there's not always something you can do about it, and it's inevitable. I really hope people realize that, and it's not just morbid pessimism at all. When you play football you know someone's going to injured just like when you go into war you know someone's going to get injured to fatally wounded. We're going to really have to be able to accept these things and not going into panic mode. Will Poole is just one player, and I would have really liked him to possibly even start this year but I wish him a speedy recovery (hopefully it's not as seriously as it's been said to be) and I still feel we have as much as a legtimate chance of making playoffs as we did before and hopefully we don't have as many injuries as we did last year because that was just uncanny... That is something we really should be hoping doesn't happen this year because last year was one of the worst years that I could ever remember when we've been plagued with so many injuries. That's all I wanted to say.. Thanks for listening.
