Eric Clapton: 1st band in 1963 was the "Yardbirds" His second band (1965) was the John Mayall Band. After that, he formed Cream played with them for 2 years and left in 1968. Then he formed a band with one of his favorite muscians Steve Winwood called "Free". He played with Steve for not even a year because playing live everyone was expecting "Cream". So Eric took a short break, and then formed "Derrick and the Dominoes", and out of that band came the hit "Layla"

In 1971 he left "The Dominoes" and took a three year hiatus, selling most of his guitars to support his heroine addiction. He had nearly 200, and sold all but a few.

He then cleaned up, did a solo album and has been doing very well ever since.

The End.

How was that Jaydog?

87, you forgot the demise of his little boy  and the beautiful song he wrote about it................Tears in Heaven.

I didn't forget Miadphan, but Jay's question was name the bands...:)
