As expected, running back
Arian Foster will start at Miami unless he suffers some kind of setback in Saturday's walkthrough.
Foster missed the opening victory over Indianapolis because of a strained hamstring.
Ben Tate will be the backup against the Dolphins.
Derrick Ward, who started against the Colts, won't play at Miami because of a sprained ankle.
"He looks ready to play," coach
Gary Kubiak said about Foster. "He's had a good week. As long as there's no setbacks, he's ready to go.
"The key right now for me the next 48 hours is what type of play count I put on him. I have to be a little concerned as we go into the game. I'll watch him and see how he's holding up, but I would think that he's definitely not going to be a 60-play guy like he normally is for us."
Receiver
Kevin Walter (bruised shoulder) sat out another practice, but Kubiak still didn't rule him out of the Miami game. Kubiak called Walter a "game-time decision."
Meanwhile, rookie cornerback
Roc Carmichael, a fourth-round draft choice, was placed on injured reserve because of a shoulder injury he suffered early in camp. Defensive end
Tim Bulman was re-signed to replace Carmichael on the roster.
