Injury Update For Patriots

Givens is a good player, that is big. Plus, there O-line is already banged up, so Ashworth is huge. Also, Pass had been spelling the banged up Corey Dillon.

After some searching, seems Patriot fans are a little worried that Dillion might not play either.

NFL.com lists Dillon as questionable.

Unfortunately, our big hole on defense is the secondary.

EDIT:

Running the ball hasn't been as easy for New England. Corey Dillon, battling an ankle injury, is averaging a career-low 3.5 yards per carry and has rushed for 441 yards through eight games. He had 900 at the midway point last season.

If Ashworth is out, that makes a huge difference. The strength of our defense is the defensive line, and with two rookies on the left side of the line (JT's side) and Ashworth out of the right side, we're looking at two of the original starters and a slight advantage for the Dolphins.

If we can't beat the Pats under these circumstances, we have absolutely no right to go anywhere this year.

This is what is new with the Patriots injuries and some one named Seymour is back.

Seymour steps it up: All-Pro lineman gets back to work

FOXBORO - Patriots defensive end Richard Seymour began practice on the field with his teammates for the first time since Oct. 26 in a possible precursor to his return Sunday in Miami.

Seymour stretched and started kickoff drills during the 20 minutes the media are allowed to watch practice. He wore a heavy brace on his left knee to stabilize a strained medial collateral ligament that has sidelined him for six weeks.

He suffered a similar injury late last season and missed six weeks, including the entire AFC playoffs, before returning for the Super Bowl against Philadelphia.

There’s no disputing that the Patriots have missed him. Without Seymour the last two weeks, they’ve lost the time-of-possession battle by a 2-to-1 margin. And now they face a Dolphins squad featuring the punishing running of rookie Ronnie Brown and veteran Ricky Williams.

Seymour’s teammates were mum about his possible return.

“You’ll have to ask Richard about that,†nose tackle Vince Wilfork said. “We’re 4-4. That’s all that matters. We can’t worry about Richard or who’s going to be where or where’s going to be who. We just have to find a way to win.â€Â

Added fellow defensive lineman Ty Warren: “We need as many bodies as we can get out there. Not just Richard. He’s an added plus, but we’ll take anybody we can get out there.â€Â

Warren sees room to improve

In addition to Seymour, Warren also returned to practice. Warren’s been battling a hip injury that has limited his effectiveness.

“I’m feeling pretty good,†Warren said. “I’m doing OK.â€Â

Warren said the front seven, and the defensive line in particular, are feeling the pressure to stop Miami’s two-headed running attack.

“It starts with us,†he said. “It always starts with us. They’re two talented backs and they’ll definitely have to be accounted for. We’re going to approach the game like any other and first stop the run. Then everything else should take care of itself. [continue]

With all those injuies and this being a home game you are right.

Agree big time, this whole division is going to be determined by the team that takes advantage of an opportunity. THIS IS OURS! We need to at least split with the Patsies and this is our chance. GO FINS!
