Injury Updates and questions (merged 2x)

The Dolphins have scratched left tackle Mark Dixon for Sunday night's game against the Broncos because of an ankle injury. Marcus Spriggs gets his second start of the season. Coach Dave Wannstedt said that defensive end David Bowens practiced on his sore knee and should be able to see action. He has been listed as doubtful. Even linebacker Twan Russell, who's been out with a knee injury, could add some experience for the special teams. He has been listed as questionable

Broncos coach Mike Shanahan didn't have to spend much time talking about injuries following Friday's practice. He has five probables and none are expected to miss Sunday's game against the Dolphins. Wide receiver Rod Smith has practiced all week with a separated shoulder and will start. Fullback Mike Anderson will be back after missing a game with an ankle injury. His return, though, won't change the plan to get halfback Clinton Portis most of the carries.
