I had an aunt die of cancer that I was extremely close with. The reason I say this is so that you can see why I could be sensitive to the topic however I am not. Here's my gripe: I hear people especially on ESPN site complain when someone says that a player was a cancer to their team (percy harvin, mike wallace, etc.). A lof of people really dislike people saying it and many say they are being to sensitive. I don't think anyone saying that means to be disrespectful. I sure don't take offense to it.
one of the cancer definitions per dictionary.com:
any evil condition or thing that spreads destructively; blight.
When people call something a cancer they are not referring to the disease humans get they are talking about the kind of cancer a truck gets were eats away the metal.
I'd like to hear people's insights on what side of the fence they are on. Maybe I am missing something?
thanks
