I thought i'd switch things up and ask you guys what formations you would run inside the 5 and why you would run them.

I would spread everything out. Turner by his lonesome on the left flat. Ginn, Bess, and Camarillo in trips right. Pat White taking the snap in shot gun with Ronnie to his left.

You would have hot reads on both sides of the ball, with either a fade to Turner or quick throw to the flat with Bess (hell, I might even put Fasano and Martin in the trips right formation and let them steamroll for Bess).

If they overprotect the edges, use Ronnie as a fullback (Auburn) and let White run it inside.

You got pitch options on a sweep left to Ronnie, as well as run/pass rollout options with White to the left. You could even use White as a rollout option QB with Ronnie.

And the usual suspects, with your Quick slants right or left, pick plays in trips right, and HB option pass left.

Of course, the execution becomes watered down presumably when the options increase, which is why I would only give reps to three variations per week and just keep switching it up every week(based on what three variations might work best on said opponent). Then just let Pat White survey the field and call the correct audible (man, if only I still played Madden).

So what's yours?

not a big fan of pulling a guard inside the 5 but should feel comfortable with Long keeping his man tied up. I Like the formation, though. You could also quick-pound it inside to either side with LP or RB.

If only we had Herman Johnson at left guard!!!! That would have been one hell of a push on the left side

I like the the wildcat the most on the goal line. I like the idea of putting Cary and Long beside each other and telling Ronnie to follow the leader. They know it's coming but they just can't stop it. That is how you demoralize and dominate your opponent.

I would just run a Big-I formation, with unbalanced line.. Carey and Long on the right side with Fasano over there and can either run it thier side(off tackle) or a play action and hit fasano.

If it's inside the 2, then I would go big as well, and not overthink things.

Put a gym shoe on White and let him launch off Grove's back out of the shotgun at the Pats house when we're already winning big and only a few seconds remain in the 4th.... Seeing Belichiks' face: priceless.

Truly it would depend on the down , what formation u run. Personally I would run a 2 TE formation with both Ricky and Ronnie in the backfield with Pennington as our qb. No way I put the ball in the hands of a rookie qb when we have Ricky , Ronnie and Pennington to put in the backfield.

So many options!!!
WHEN DOES THIS SEASON START!!!!??!?!?

ARGHHHH...

I LOVE THIS SQUAD.

We're going to be dangerous.

I would line up Ronnie at FB, Penny at QB, White as the RB with Turner on the left and Bess, Ginn and Camarillo on the right in trips. Penny hands it off to White who takes it to the right side, gives a reverse to Bess or Ginn, which results in a TD for us.

This season cannot come quick enough.

Pennington takes the snap with Pat White either split out or in backfield with Ronnie. Forces D to honor White's passing, running and receiving talents, even if he never touches the ball. Who's the new big receiver we got-6'4" or something?- post him up in the endzone. Unbalanced line as described. Now you can power run, misdirection/wildcat/gimmick play with White, or straight up passing to a big red-zone receiver. Drag another receiver/TE across the middle. How does a defensive coordinator defend all those options? He just has to hope he guesses right, and this is where Pennington's brains and decision making are the difference- he has the ability to see where the D bites and exploit the hole.

Single-back trips to the right - Fasano, Bess, Ginn (inside to out), Turner or Martin split out left. Depending on how the D plays it, a quick off tackle play for Brown or let Pennington find Fasano or Bess working the middle.
