Defensively, the Patriots have given up 632yds.(210yds/game)and 5tds/2ints. through the air to their last 3 opponents(Indianapolis, Buffalo, NY Jets). Those numbers are a little skewed because Trent Edwards and Buffalo only were able to amass 120yds. with 2ints. During that same stretch, the aforementioned teams were able to gain 247yds.(82yds/game) on the ground and 1td. Both Indy and Buffalo were awful running the ball, gaining 57 and 60 yards respectively with no tds.

On offense, over the last 3 games, New England has put up 66pts. The Paul Revere Society made a spectacular comeback against the Jets in the 2nd half of last wk's. game only to fall in OT 31-34. Against those teams, the Patriots have ran for 409yds(136yds/game). Even with injuries in the running game, New England has found ways to move the ball on the ground. Cassell has averaged 279yds/game over the last 3 outings. He was pedestrian aganst the Colts and Bills averaging 219yds/game with 2ints. But against the Jets he popped his cherry:D, throwing for 400yds and 3tds. Let's hope that game was an abberation. I not too worried about the run defense, but our DBs going up against their WRs is a major concern.

New England has fumbled the 4 times in the last 3 games losing 3 of those balls. Cassell has also been intercepted once. O'Neal and Merriweather lead the team in ints with 3 a piece. As a team the Pats are +2 in the turnover dept.

We have to find a way to contain the passing game. We don't do well with big recievers and Moss is one of the most athletically gifted ones we will face. If we can avoid giving up the big pass, I think we will do OK on run defense, we will have an opportunity to win this game. Let's hope we're sitting at 7-4 at 4:15.

Thanks for the stats dude! I'm getting fired up big time here in the UK about this game. Gotta tear these cheatriots a new a**hole today! It's 11.26am in the UK and don't think I can wait till 6pm!

Go Fins!

Reading this about the game made me feel a little like nearing the edge of grand canyon
A little queezy, a little aprehensive
and really not sure if I want to get any closer to it or not.

No joke. This game will really tell me alot about this team.....And I'm not sure I want to know.

I totally believe if special teams do not play at least 50 percent better than they are "capable" of, we are in serious trouble. this team CAN do it but the #1 key for them is for special teams dig in and play the game of their lives.

Unless there is a total implosion on D, I think they can hold their own against the patriots offense and knowing our team and the way they have played, they dont need a lot from the offense to come away with the win.

I guess what I am saying is, Im with you, i am not sure I want to know.

I have seriously never seen worse ST play. I agree that's what will probably win, or not win the day.

So far this season the defense and offense have both elevated their game beyond what anyone thought possible. Now it's time for ST to do the same.

Not only does NE have a serious ST threat on ever return, but BB plays the field position game as well as any coach in the league. We need someone besides Cobbs and Allen to tackle somebody down there, maintain discipline. And I swear to God if Charlie Anderson commits another holding penalty I'm going to go down there with a hacksaw (a rusty one) and amputate both of his hands.

Na, It would just Anderson the abilty to say the holding peneltys are out of his hands now.

just a few more hours and we will know one way or another

I went to bed at 3:00 at woke up at 6:30. I just can't sleep. Who needs sleep though. Sleep is over rated.

We have to punish Cassell all day. Bring pressure in his face and force him to make mistakes. We can't let him sit back there and pick us apart. As the op said we should be able to stop the run. Just don't give up the big play.

I want this game so bad!

It's been a while since I had this kind of morning.

when you say big play do you mean- dont let them run the KO back for a touchdown and then for the rest of the game let their starting position be their 47 after a half dozen nice punt returns?

and i still think we can do this. This is the big one.
