Inside the numbers - Ryan Tannehill's last 15 starts

Lazor and Philbin will throw RT under the bus this year if he does not improve you already are seeing their actions when Philbin basically undermined RT in the first half by not running the 2 minute drill and Lazor comments after the game implying if RT feelings are hurt he better get his big boy pants on because this is a mans game. You don't say and do these thing to instill confidence in your QB you do it to light a fire under his butt. Let's be realists here for a minute both these guys understand that if RT fails then they loose their jobs so I beleive by mid season we could see Moore under center if they believe it could save their jobs and they will not hesitate dumping on RT as the issue and Ireland for drafting him. Soo chill WVIRGINIA if your right it's coming just what you are asking for until then let's all hope Lazor can spin some magic with RT.

Over Tannehill's last 15 starts the Miami Dolphins have a record of 6-9.

The Miami Dolphins have scored 30 points twice in the last 15 games. This ratio is actually higher than Tannehill's career clip. The Dolphins only eclipsed 30 points once in the 2013 season, in a 34-28 win @ Pittsburgh.

The Miami Dolphins lost ONE game last year when the team managed to score at least 22 points. This was a 26-23 loss to Baltimore in Miami. On every other occasion that the Dolphins managed to score at least 22 points, they were victorious in 2013.

Conversely, the Dolphins failed to win any games in which they did not score at least 22 points. However, the defense only yielded a 30 point game to one opponent in 2013, a 38-17 loss @ New Orleans, to an explosive Saints offense in their dome.

The Dolphins defense also held the opponent to 23 points or less in a whopping 13 of 16 games last season. They managed to win one game when actually yielding more than 23 points(@ Pittsburgh). The median PPG per team in the NFL last season was 24.1. The average would be somewhat higher thanks to Denver being a huge outlier.

All of this demonstrates how close a team is from 8 wins and 12 wins. Had the Dolphins been able to manage a few more points per game, they likely win several more games.

The Dolphins managed TWO separate 3 game win steaks last season in a season that saw only 8 wins. Conversely, the Phins suffered a 4 game losing streak.

Over the past 15 games, Ryan Tannehill's individual stats which lead the Phins to their 6-9 record over that span are as follows..................

562 attempts
333 completions
59.2% completion rate

3505 Yards
23 TDs
17 INTs

This comes to a QB rating over a 15 game span of 78.48 :baghead:

That is horrible play over a span of games that basically equals a full season. It is certainly not the caliber of play that will get things done. It is the kind of play that leads to 6 and 7 win seasons.

It is time to give Matt Moore the opportunity he deserves. If Moore can get this team scoring 24 points on a consistent basis, the Phins have the type of team that can win 10+ games.

It's happened. Junc cloned himself only this version is Matt Moore's lover. I've seen it all.

I was as excited as any when Tanny went up to Pittsburgh and played his butt off, then followed it up with a big performance vs. NE the following week. I even posted on this site how it was his coming out party and that my doubts had been finally silenced. Unfortunately I took the bait and he sh*t himself in two extremely important games with playoffs on the line to end the season vs. the lowly Bills and Jets.

I just wanted to win regardless of who's in there. I know that Moore has the balls and talent to attack teams down the field. You're absolutely right that our offense clicked like we haven't seen in a while once he hit his stride as our starter in 2011. With his game though comes an occasional stupid pick. That's what you get with QB's who like to attack. Moore was also very vocal and showed a competitive fire that I haven't seen in a Dolphins QB for a long time, things I used to love about Marino. You could see it on the field and how his teammates responded to him.

I would like for Tannehill to be pulled out of a game, and replaced at least for a few series. THe problem is that Tannehill knows he won't be benched, he has been given the starting job. Tannehill's press conferences are the same,
"we left too many plays out there, I missed throws........." let him know that he has no guaranteed job as the starter. He has no reason to improve if he doesn't have to, and is not fearful of losing his job.

so, judging by your logic, if we are destined to have a losing record - say a 6-10 record, Moore may, may get us to a 8-8 record, which leaves us......picking at 15 again, which means we dont have a lot of room to move up, and we, by your logic, will probably get a non impact player. again. is that what your saying, or wanting?

no need to get in a hissy over WV's thread and opinion. he wants to claim his stake, and he may just end up being right. either way, we all have rights to opinion.

Bingo. I've never known anyone with more superior trolling abilities. I can certainly see why you view him as your mentor.

You seem him as a troll, but Junc does have football knowledge, just because he is a fan of another team doesnt mean he doesnt know what he is talking about.

Agreed. But he spins info and circles the wagon better than any Chris Berman Buffalo antic I've ever seen.
