If you remember from the first game of the season, there was a play that was ruled a catch then a fumble on the field only to be challenged and overturned because the referee said he didn't have possession before the ball came loose. My opinion was that the play should have stood because the call on the field was a catch and the evidence wasn't conclusive to overturn the call and because of that, the call must stand. Many people replied saying that they made the right call and that I was insisting it was a catch because of the fact that I'm a dolphin fan and my opinion was subjective.
In last night's game, Thompson made a "catch" that in my mind was a trap and it looked way more conclusive than the McMichael play. It looked to me like the ball actually bounced. When the play was challenged, the call stood because according to the ref, there wasn't conclusive evidence to prove that he trapped it (I thought for sure the call would be overturned).
My point was and is now that replay was meant to right any blatant wrongs. If there is a shadow of a doubt, the play must stand! On the Ward TD, the ball looked to be moving and it looked to have touch the turf but due to the fact that the camera angle was so poor, you couldn't say for sure so the call rightfully stood!

From where I could see, Hines caught that football. I don't doubt that one bit....didn't need replay.
