The Miami Dolphins have formally signed defensive end Jamaal Westerman. The former New York Jet, who played for St. Thomas Aquinas for one season, has been in the NFL for three seasons - all with the Jets. Westerman, 27, has three starts in 36 games. All three starts were last season when he compiled 32 tackles, 3.5 sacks and a forced fumble.
Like I'm seeing from some of the other post...Give this office a chance to shine. Eagles got their Fans to love em last year in the off season and they stunk it up until it was too late. I do feel Ireland has built a decent foundation that is workable for Philbin. They aren't going to reach out and cave in to media hullabaloo. I feel like a lot of this Dolphins hate is now being exemplified on the Television. A new coach can make a huge difference (Harbaugh?!)

I was searching NFL.com just now and they are pretty much laughing at the sad state of the dolphins from that stupid protest earlier. Support your God **** team and Shut the Hell up.

New Englands Defense wasn't all that good anyway. If Belichick let him go, he probably isn't a franchise savior.

Bra I've shut the hell up for 4 years waiting for the "plan" to take shape. We still have line trouble after 4 years!! Why do we have to shut the hell up a fans?

If your referring to Anderson he was their savior.you could see how bad that defense was without him.

Agreed. One of the few bright spots on their d.

so he's been in the league for 3 seasons and he's 27... what the **** did he do before the nfl? go to college for six years?

Westerman could end up being a very good pickup.

32 tackles, 3.5 sacks and a forced fumble in 3 games.......not bad at all. Some players go a whole season and only get 3.5 sacks.

@ Muss and Simon - If your looking for Perfection you won't find it, our Line was not Horrible. We were 6th in points allowed With a pretty inept offensive to boot. 3rd in rushing.

Westerman looks like an up and coming player. I like the pickup. Hopefully Anderson is still in the mix. Ravens are talking to Anderson right now.

If the bargain free agents Ireland is bringing in work out, is he a genius?

i was on kffl earlier and it reported anderson is in buffalo now.

???? gettin greedy?

Anderson is still a possibility as he's met with the Dolphins, Jaguars, Ravens and Bills.

Not saying I want him cuz I dont know how much money he wants...

Well If that is true (I thought he went to play with Mario in the Cold) that that would be pretty epic.

As a side thought from last year: Teams rushing AGAINST Miami averaged 3.7 yards a rush, teams rushing against Baltimore was 3.8 and Pitts was 3.9 (the top Defense in the league last year). We should definitely have a pretty solid group barring injuries and/or poor coaching.

He is in Buffalo right now With the Bills staff, eating at Tempo's same place Mario Ate at.

They are brining him to the Stadium and facilities tomorrow. Rumors are they will make a strong push and try to sign him.

Williams....Dareus....Williams.....Anderson

With Kelsay Merriman et others lookt be a a very good front 4
