Even if we sign Brees, should we still draft a Qb for insurance incase Drews shoulder doesnt pan out? Maybe in like the 2nd or 3rd round.

Definitely. I would say a 3rd or 4th rounder like Jacobs or Whitehurst would be great. A 2nd rounder, IMO, would be too much to spend if Brees is already here.

Definatly. If Drew stays for a few years and decides hes ready for a raise...seeya our pet is waiting in the wings. If we keep him around long term we have a great piece of trade bait just chilling there, and we all know how valuable a good young QB is.

No, I don't think so....if we get Brees and his arm turns into a noodle (like Pennigton) there will always be decents out-of-work QB's that we can bring in....I am sure we can always resign Gus if we have to....if not we have Lemon or Rosenfels for the time being.

Gus did say that after the Miami Dolphins he might retire and Sage is gunna leave in free agency. however if we do not draft a QB than there is always Tim Couch who would be a nice QB. I doubt Gus will be back unless he resigns very soon after he is cut.

If all goes well, we will have Brees, Frerotte, Clemons, and Croyle battling it out in practice. I'd rather have Whitehurst but word is Saban likes Bama. We'll see.

I think we have to use a mid round pick on one to groom under Brees, there are all the questions about Brees surgery, and you never know in case he goes down
