I just found this article yesterday (it was released back in May), and its an interesting read. I'm sure we've all discussed this topic before ... but lets do it again.
Who should be the next Dolphin to have his Jersey Number retired? Jason Taylor is an interesting case, seeing that he is likely to be the next Dolphin to be inducted in the HOF (I'll guess sometime in the next 5 years).

What say you?

I'm not sure how I feel about retiring numbers. No doubt JT was one of the best. Was he thee best tho?

JT was the best DE Miami has ever had so yea I agree he deserves it. Just like Marino, he never got a ring! At least retire his Jersey for appreciation. Sad part is he could have been a Patriot and won a Super Bowl but refused to play with them so he became a Jet. Marino should have went to the Vikings with Moss and Carter to try and win a ring! Resign with the Fins to retire!

I wouldn't retire any more jerseys just put players in the ring of honor. I'm not a huge fan of retiring numbers.

99 and 54. I don't think anyone is stupid enough to wear those numbers anyway, so they should just be retired. They're pretty much retired now

Sorry....but theres a backlog of great players who won championships here who haven't had that done.

I personally don't agree with retiring numbers...at some point your going to run out.

I love Zach & JT....but the defenses they played on faltered when it mattered most....So I can't agree with retiring either number.

Griese and Marino were league MVP's...Griese leading the greatest era in Dolphin history...and one of the greatest of any team....32-2...undefeated season and 2 rings...three straight superbowl appearances.

Marino was the best pure passer in NFL history....and if the league would have left the rules alone and ignored Brady and Mannings whining...Marino's marks would still stand. In todays game....Marino would throw 60 td's and 6000 yards.

Not to slight any of todays quarterbacks...but they wouldn't be posting these crazy numbers under the old rules.

Csonka is just a legend...once in a lifetime bull of a player.

So retiring those numbers makes some sense...but you can't retire every number of every good player.

Are you gonna retire Dwight Stephenson's?...many think he is the best center ever.

Jim Langer, Larry Little, Paul Warfield. Etc etc etc....can't retire them all.

Sorry, JT isn't even close to the best DE Miami has ever had. JT padded his stats against inferior competition, but was often invisible against the elite LTs.
Vern Den Herder, Doug Betters were more dominant players.
