Interesting: Brady's Career numbers against the Fins...

From the Sun Sentinel...I thought this was very interesting.

  • While Brady is a combined 25-3 for his career against the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets, he is just 9-5 as a starter against the Dolphins. Only one other team in the NFL, the Broncos, has pinned that many losses on him (1-5).
  • While Brady has thrown 25 touchdown passes against the Dolphins, his 13 interceptions in the series are his highest total against any opponent. Take out his 9/2 ratio against the hapless 2007 Dolphins, and Brady's prior struggles appear even worse.
  • His 6.3 yards per attempt in 387 career passes against the Dolphins is his lowest against any team he's faced three or more times.
  • His 83.6 quarterback rating against the Dolphins is his worst against any team he's faced at least four times.
  • Just two of his 54 career games with a passer rating of 100 or better have come against Miami, and his rating has been below 80 in 10 of those 14 outings.
  • Brady has thrown for 300-plus yards just once against the Dolphins, a 354-yard outing in October 2007. He has 25 games of 300-plus yards against everybody else.
  • Of the five times in 137 career starts (including playoffs) that Brady has failed to reach 100 yards passing, four of them have coming against the Dolphins. (He left after one quarter in December 2006.)

I never understand these kinds of trends - how can they be much more than statistical coincidences over such a large span of time and changes in personnel, coaches, etc.? I mean what, do our team colors **** him up or something?

Two Words: Jason Taylor

He has had some of his best games against the Pats. And loves to bring the heat when playing Brady.

Phins teams have done that in the past..

Play up to comp..

and play down to comp

Pats are always a good team...

Time to play above the rim this week

It's truly idiotic.

This is what people who get paid to write sports articles for newspapers do instead of really writing articles.

This is the same as the moronic article about Henne having the best stats of any QB in NFL history in his first 2 games. Who the F cares about a 2 game stat that doesn't even begin with game #1? :rolleyes2:

Sorry I posted it I guess. While these stats are completely useless come sunday, I think its something we can look at and be proud of as Dolphin Fans. I mean the guy is one of the best QBs of this generation.

LOL, no man, these stats are always interesting. But sometimes it's just hard to tell whether they're real or coincidence. I'd like to think there's a reason Brady plays poorly against us (and yes, JT is a big factor), but these kinds of trends have little bearing on the upcoming game. That's all - it's still an interesting fact and we finfans can be proud that for whatever reason, we've always played Brady tough.

exactly

those stats represent a long time trend and every friggin prognosticator uses this to break down ball games.

Lets face it. joey talkin, JT pumped, ronnie/ricky pumped.

Its going to be a dogfight.

some good info.

Brady only passing for 300+ yards once in his career against us (and it was during our horrible 1-15 season), and 4 of his 5 games throwing under 100 yards coming against the Dolphins, his not so spectacular qb rating, and 6.3 per attempt -- are great stats

Interesting that there aren't any Pats fans posting in this thread, even though it has been up since yesterday I see. But they are like locusts in the other threads.

heh

When Brady finally got a WR core he destroyed the fins. Guess what?!? He still has that core!

Pats fans arent worried don't worry

yeah, during an injury decimated totally crap 1-15 team in 2007.. Congratulations !! You're pretty weak if you can only hang your hat beating a Detroit Lions type team of 07.. Miami has beaten the Pats in 4 of the last 5 seasons (the exception the 2007 1-15 team)

There are 40+ different players on this Miami team compared to that Detroit Lions'esque roster of 2007.

The FACT is, no one has played better against Brady and the Pats in the division than the Dolphins have. And in fact, Miami has played against the Pats better this decade aside from only one other team- the Broncos who Brady is 1-5 against. That cannot be denied.

You better be worried. If you lose you may lose momentum going into a hard schedule.

Or when we we're so bad it was the only time he could muster a decent game.

You should be worried!
