Ireland said the Dolphins will head into the season with the receiving corps as currently constituted but would not rule out picking up a high-profile wideout ``during the course of the season.'':d-day:

Translation:

If a borderline team with a high-caliber WR tanks early and offers up that high-caliber WR for a reduced price, he'd be willing to take advantage of the situation.

At least, that's how I read it.

Hopefully we do not need another one. I expect Ireland would say this same thing about any position on the team.

I read it as Ireland sending a message to his receivers that they better look good in camp and be ready to have a great season.

often these types comments from sports GM's is about sending a message to their own players.

Totally agree. This is his way of motivating the wide recievers. Also this statement would be made by any smart GM.

Well, if you think about it, it only makes sense, if the current recievers aren't doing good, are you just going to go get another non proven WR to take their place, no, you're going to find a WR who's proven that they can play at this level, i.e., a high profile WR..weather that's using a trade, or a Marvin Harrison type situation, is the the "what we don't know" factor.

Naw we wont need to..this comment will motavate all of our WRs to step up and get there job done at a high level

I think this is Ireland's second message to Ted Ginn this off-season. After saying that it's time for Ted Ginn to really show what he was drafted here to do, Ireland wants Ginn to know that is really a put up or shut up year for him. Get the job done or you are out of here.

Ginn may have looked great in shorts and shells but will it continue when they put the pads on.

I spoke to a friend in Ireland, and he disagrees. JK/LOL.

Pay attention to Denver's brandon marshall if he can settle his legal issues. I see him living around week 9-12... Personally i do not see jeff, bill, or tony wanting him, but you never know.

I read it as waiting to see how our team does. IF we play well and win games in the first half, while needing help at WR, he makes a move. Otherwise, we roll the dice, and take our chances.

Boldin, Brandon Marshall, Plaxico, and ochocinco seem to be the best odds. honestly part of me feels that Plax really may be the best even though he can be a....questionable character. we would have to give up no picks, but will cost money. but i somewhat feel that not having to give up a first day pick could be worth the money. also he is definately a good, fairly young, reciever. doesnt he live and train in miami too? IMO just a thought. id also be fine with the young WR core were working with now, but if we could i would love to get a top wr

I simply read it as .... a good GM never closes the door on a great opportunity.
