Interesting report on Cowher...not directly Fins related...but since he is on the list of potential coaches..

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...on-turner-amid-conflicting-reports-on-cowher/

"Few coaches would generate more enthusiasm among fans than Bill Cowher, and
Mark Cannizzaro of the New York Post reports, citing “an in-the-know source with intimate knowledge of the San Diego sports scene” that Cowher
already had an interview with high-ranking people inside the Chargers
organization
, and that Cowher expressed his interest in the job.

However, Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune writes that two
Chargers sources said unequivocally and vehemently on Saturday that the Chargers
have not talked to Cowher
."

I truely hope Cowher didn't interview for the SD job while they had a coach.
If I recall it seems that he was one of the folks who was talking down Ross for chasing a new coach while he still had one under contract.

That would be the height of hypocrisy, but very believable. Anything these guys do doesn't surprise me. But it would also go with the thought that maybe the Miami job is not that attractive. SD has a Philip Rivers to work with, and we have Matt Moore......most coaches would take Rivers in a heartbeat over Moore, no matter what the Blind Homers will say and want to believe.

If he were in fact looking for a coaching job there, then I'd assume that he is just fielding offers, seeing what is out there, so to decide which place would be the best fit.

I wouldn't take it as Miami not being an attractive gig.

Whats so attractive about Miami besides the city?

A pathetic organization, staff, and owner. This organization hasn't done squat for about 20 years, why would anyone want to take a dead end job?

No one will want work with Ireland, one of the worst GM in the league.

What if the Chargers arent lying and it`s Cowher`s way to get his name out there?

If he wants full control like many expect and need to be surrounded by a Franchise QB than SD makes perfect sense. I`d take Gruden or Fisher all day.

The way some of you think we may as well have kept Tony or let's keep Bowles..........

The reports about Cowher and SD are complete BS. Cowher made a big deal about talking to a team that didn't have a HC vacancy, and said he would never do such a thing. He also recently said live on CBS that he has not been contacted or has not spoke to any team, and that he will not be coaching next year. Coaches like Nick Saban are liars, but I believe Cowher to be a man of his word, and those reports of him interviewing with SD are just not true.

Bill Cowher is a snake. He has a big smile, but is disingenuous. Back in the late 1990's, he screwed Tom Donahoe over in a power grab in Pittsburgh. Donahoe built those teams and was left with no job. I would never give Cowher total control. He cannot do the job.

I liked the idea at first, but the more I have researched and thought about it, I do not want him.

What is he really good at? Motivation? Maybe. He is not a defensive mastermind...Dick LeBeau is. His offensive style...next.

I don't want Cowher. He is a has been. Mike Tomlin won the same amount of Super Bowls as Cowher in far less time.

This came from PFT which means there is at least a 75% chance it is total BS.
