Last year, Shulters starter over tillman, right? At the end of the year Saban determined Shulters wasn't good enough to resign even at a low price(he hasn't signed with anyone I beleive), right? So Tillman couldn't start over a player saban views as not worth even having on the roster, right? And if my memory serves me correctly it was Bell who was going to start the season at safety but at the last minute Shulters got promoted. So why did Tillman get the nod in the first place? Something just doesn't seem right.

Correct me if I'm wrong but at the start of 2005 Shulters was are free safety and Tebucky Jones was our strong safety. When Jones went down Tillman replaced him because Bell was the backup free safety. Like I said, correct me if I'm wrong. I'm pretty sure that if Yermiah Bell starts at strong safety Sunday it would be his first time at that position.

I don't think we have a strong or free safety as per say, but a left and a right safety, but according to Saban these are different positions. Not sure if he is contradicting himself or if I am wrong.

Resign Schulters, go sign T-Buck - get some guys who are smart and savvy. Play Bell, bench Tillman. Then light a serious fire under Allen's butt or start calling him out as the bust of a pick he has rapidly become.

resigning Shulters would stunt Jason Allens growth even more...and how old is T-Buck?

How would that stunt his growth? This kid needs to learn how to study and prepare - I think Schulters could give him that. Teams/coaches can't have it both ways - rookies don't play right away so they can develop, don't sign a veteran it will stunt the rookie's growth.

Total BS - Allen was a huge miss of a pick. The guy is guaranteed to make his millions for at least the next three years while he sits on the bench. Get somebody in the secondary who can actually, you know, play.
