I could not find any info on whether ANY incentive agreed upon after the start of the year is categorized as "likely to be earned"......
however I did find this article Ron Del Duca's July 14, 1999 Article which has a lot of detail of how the CBA differentiates a likely to be earned bonuses and unlikely to be earned bonuses.
Basically, there are certain things that are certain team and individual stats that are "unlikely"....unless the team/player had accomplished them the year before. Other than those specific things which are spelled out in the CBA, any other stat will be "likely to be earned".
So we could say that Ricky gets a 2 million dollar bonus if he rushes for 12 100-yard games, and it would be likely to be earned, because 100-yard rushing games are not listed in the CBA.
