Interesting Notes from Omar Kelly on Phins Minicamp

Lets not forget too that everyone looks good in shells. When the hitting starts is when we'll see just how good these guys look.

I do like the two 7-on-7's going at once. That's probably something Philbin picked up from running practices in Green Bay.

i don't understand omar at all (as usual). we have jake long, so we will not be selecting a left tackle early. taking omar's "sage advice," we draft a left tackle later in the draft (4th round or later). what are the odds that this player would be able to step in for jake if (knock on wood) something happened to him? after the way jerry played at LT last year after jake was injured, and with lydon murtha healthy again, don't you think either of those two players would have about a 99% better chance of starting in place of jake than the later-round 2012 draft choice? of course grooming someone for the future is never a bad idea, but omar is way off when he says we need to draft a LT to help us out this year. as far as misi goes, all you folks that have been riding him as a "bust 2nd rounder" at OLB in the 3-4 will be eating your words if he settles into a spot he's comfortable with in our new scheme.

i said last year sean smith was gettin better, kid is going to turn into a playmaker for us.

And our backup tackles look good with Wake sitting at home sippin' a cold one!

The switch will probably be good for Misi. He's no pass rusher, but he's much better at defending the run - which is hard to notice sometimes, hence why he goes "Misi-ing"

I'm a fan of Sean Smith's abilities in coverage, but I think he could be better if he'd put more effort into the game. I'm in no position to make any assumptions about his heart, but he's already lost his starting job once and it seems like he's more worried about Twitter more than football sometimes. I think he's an injection of maturity and some stick'em away from being leaps and bounds a better player.

Not surprised at all to hear that we're running ultra-efficient practices with the new staff, but it's still good to hear.

Sean Smith best moment as a Dolphin so far , a preseason int vs the saint , Not good . Hopefully he can turn the corner in this his contract year.

Murtha has to stay healthy for once in his life or he might as well get a head start on selling insurance.

He's one of the most athletic offensive tackles that have ever participated in the combine... so was Joe Toledo.

The point is, Murtha better develope some durability PDQ or he's no good to you. Just like Joe Toledo was no good to you spending 99% of his career on an exercise bike.

You always knew it was training camp when Joe Toledo and Anthony Alabi
did the sideline Tour De Davie every practice

I like Wilson at FS, and I love the news about Misi. I hope he turns out to be a stud in the 4-3.

"--CFL import Jerome Messam is listed as a 6-4, 248 pound tailback for the Dolphins. Seriously?"

Larry Csonka 6'3" 240lb. I like it.

Very happy to read this. Even if we don't get our elite QB this year, I think I'd rather have an elite coaching staff. Elite staff will (eventually) fix the other problems the team has. Will be interesting to see how much improvement players that were on the team last year show this year with new staff/schemes/etc.

Oh god please find a way to give Wake his 8 million a year
