The NFL tracks power running success -- "Percentage of rushes on 3rd or 4th down with 2 or fewer yards to go that achieved a first down or TD. Also includes rushes on 1st-and-goal and 2nd-and-goal from the opponent's 2-yard line or closer."

The Dolphins have an 88% success rate up the middle, an 80% success rate going left, and an 80% success rate going right. No other team in the league has an 80% or higher success rate in more than one category. Some teams can block up the middle but not to the edges, or to one side but not the other. This line can pound you in short yardage wherever they want.

This team is actually quite good. Our coordinators are holding us back. We do need help on D and WR, but our coordinators have cost us.

Which is why its brilliant to have your RB throw a pass on 1st and goal from the 3.

Seriously though, a lot of that success rate is because of the same play we run on EVERY 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1 situation. Id say Polite is somewhere around 93% converting that. And that is the play we call EVERY TIME in that situation.

Youre correct. Our coordinators are killing us. Especially on offense.

Let me ask you two questions.

1) Who hired those guys?

2) Who is in charge of them on gamedays?

We are quite good? On defense? Name one guy on defense who could even get tickets to the pro bowl, let alone play there.

We have a 32 year old RB, a second year wide-eyed QB, and no receivers who scare a soul.

Yes, we have had some questionable calls by coaches but make no mistake: PLAYERS PLAY THE GAME. We do not have the players on either side to consistently get it done week in and week out. Not yet.

Stop blaming coordinators.

BP. Sparano did not hire Henning or Pasq.

Actually no. If we did beat NO, INDY, and Buf with the same team, will you still be saying that? PP and Henning has cost us. We have a top 5 o-line, the 4th best running game, and the #2 sacking D.

You answered the first question. Want to attempt to answer the 2nd?

I will pose it again.

On gamedays, who is IN CHARGE of the coordinators?

Give this line even more time to gel and they'll be incredible, let alone if we can get a passing threat.

I agree there. If Sparano does grow a pair and fires Henning and Pasq., I'll forgive him.

If we beat them? We didn't. A good team doesn't give up 143 points in the 4th quarter in 11 games. My God, coordinators get so much credit when it works and so much blame when it doesn't. This team lacks playmakers on both sides. We give up HUGE plays week in and week out on defense. We have been burned every game at least twice on long balls. This isn't the coordinator. This is lack of playmaking and getting out-athleted.

Similarly, on offense we must grind out 17 play drives and consume 8 minutes of clock to get a TD. Is this because of Henning? No, this is because we cannot make any explosive plays due to lack of talent overall and lack of big time playmakers.

Yes, we can sit here all day and say Henning blew it with the goalline call yesterday - I couldn't agree more. But the fact is, you must step back and look at the body of work. The body of work shows this team lacks bigtime in playmaking on both sides of the ball.

Oh and BTW, here are the teams 1 and 2 in rush offense: Jets and Titans (Fins third). Big effing deal. You are honing in on stats that in and of themselves do not directly equate to a "great" team or a Super Bowl contender.

Did you forget Miami is 19th in overall defense, 23rd in pass defense? How about Miami being 26th - yes 26th!!! - in scoring D at 25 points given up per game? Good luck winning consistently with that stat.

Sacks, well yaaaaay, we all love sacks!!! We have a high ranking, but this stat is completely misleading as to how this defense has performed.
