Just watched the press conferences for today and there was actually some interesting stuff
1) saban was full of jokes. most ive ever seen him laugh. perhaps relaxed about the game?
2) when talking about confidence, he said he told the players to put on their college shirts and look in the mirror and say, hey thats me from college that stand out player... and he told the players to remember how good they were in college to regain some of the confidence. He went on to say, "put on your wisconsin t-shirt, or your ohio state t-shirt, wherever ur from." Wisconsin- Chris Chambers. Ohio State- David Boston. Indirectly, Saban was saying chambers and boston are lacking confidence, which might explain their drops. I mean, come on, it isnt a coincidence Nick mentioned Wisconsin and Ohio State.
3) Gus said that when they played the Jets, the Jets defense was not what they expected it to be. He said when they studied film throughout the week, they had a pretty clear idea of what the Jets were gonna do. When gametime came, the Jets played a completely different defense than what they were prepared for by taking away the sidelines and just giving them the underneath stuff (his answer why randy got so many touches) and he went on to say that they had to change their gameplan in the game due to the different Jet defense..... Perhaps some of you were right, we might have been outcoached or outprepared for the Jets game, of course, along with the 11 stupid penalties.... all things considered, a closer game than it should have been.
