Interesting Point!

The market for players has changed. Long and the rest of the veteran players will have to think in terms of accepting less money going forward..or they will be gone. NO GM will pay last years money for players going forward.
I think Dansby and Long will take less money to stay in the coming years. Hopefully the team splits the savings with the player. Be fair to them.
 
Ross is loaded - the only money that makes a difference is in regards to the salary cap. if we are not looking to bring in any HUGE free agents (which i dont see us doing given ireland and philbins philosophy) than all this extra cap space means NOTHING.

this has been overplayed and is quite irritating in my personal opinion. all this "replace" and "trade" and "cut" nonsense. do we want to make our team even stronger, or laterally move in some guys to replace others and stay the same?

i know everyone on our team "sucks" and anyone philbin likes is "the next finley, rodgers, superbowl mvp" ect. but lets chill on who is whose replacement until A) the rookies outshine them B) the vets suck wind or ask for too much money - NEXT year.
 
No one said anything about sucking just new coaches bringing in thier own guys was my point. Who left from Cam's team just 4 years ago ? I think Bell and Carey were the last to go.
 
Noway in hell they get rid of Long, then we'll be in the same predicament as previous years.

And then there were 2 . Hey I like Long but his contract was for the number one pick in the entire draft and that was before the rookie minis were in place. Just saying i don't think he's getting a big raise.
 
Ireland made it clear the other day Long is going to be a Dolphin for a long time to come. Wake will also re-sign I'm confident.

Would not be surprised to see Bush or Fasano moved on in the coming year.
 
Should've traded Wake for picks this year and focused on RE signing Long. Elite LTs are harder to find than pass rushers and I think we coulve got a late first for Wake.
