Interesting POSITIVE ESPN/Grantland Dolphins Preview

Did none of you read the article? He explains that Henne is listed at 6'3, but he's nowhere close to 6'3. Which is true, he measured @ 6'2 1/16ths at the NFL combine. But still 6'2 230 is not small.

Yeah, I did read the article.

6'2 is nowhere close to 6'3"

I made this comparison last yr.....I won't make the same mistake this yr.....dont want to jinx the kid....

As soon as i read "they're both undersized", I stopped reading.

Henne is definitely not undersized, where did that statement derive from?

Henne from a height and weight standpoint is not undersized for the position. 6'3 is pretty much the average height you look for in QB's.

i see a different Henne, a different sparano, and a different team out there so far. i dont care what you say preseason does show you something - it has for the past several years. i just hope that the o-line is not as big an issue as it could be. I think Daboll and parcells leaving as well as sparano being scared for his job have a lot to do with this. and i think it WILL translate to wins on the feild.

You guys realized that was an article about the 8 teams with the worst chance to make the playoffs, right?

Well if there's one thing they DO have in common is this: Both didn't play much in their first year in the league, both stunk in their first two years of starting. However, Brees did manage to pull a 180 and become a great QB into his 4th year in the league (3rd year starting). Whether Henne does that remains to be seen.

And the only reasons we're not in the group of 8 improving teams, in the writer's opinion, is that we're in the AFCE and we have a horrible start to the season. He then goes on to say NYJ and NE are declining and I think we've all seen that we go into the Pats game with a decent bit of confidence and momentum from preseason and the new offense.

I think most of us believe that we're slightly better this year than a .500 team, though we're not putting the house on it. The writer's kinda leaning that way, but maybe a little sceptical too.

I see it as a pretty positive write-up that maybe even underestimates our defense.

If Henne is undersized I guess everyone else must be Jared Lorenzen size.

"Henne actually is Drew Brees reincarnated, the defense takes over, and they ride a downswing from the Patriots and Jets into the AFC East title. They make it all the way to the Super Bowl and win, and Henne finds his own adorable, young child to put enormous headphones on as the confetti rains down."

I Seriously LOL'd on this quote. C'mon Henne get a kid and make it happen!!

"If there's any obvious comparison to be made for Henne's early career path, it's Drew Brees. I know. Hear me out on this one. They're both undersized2 second-round picks from the Big Ten....Best-case scenario: Henne actually is Drew Brees reincarnated, the defense takes over, and they ride a downswing from the Patriots and Jets into the AFC East title."

Interesting read, especially from an ESPN outlet.

It's amazing Grantland is a part of ESPN, because it's one of the best sports blogs on the web
