Put this in your pipe and smoke it:

"
• Not only are the Lions not feeling the pressure to draft a quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick, we're told they may not even feel the need to select one, period, in the 2007 draft. Although he didn't see the field in 2006, we're told Detroit still feels good about 2005 fifth-rounder Dan Orlovsky and wouldn't see the rationale in selecting another developmental, second-day passer. "

From ESPN. Perhaps we will have a reasonable shot at either Russel or Quinn depending upon who goes first and what the Vikings do with their first round pick. Fingers crossed...

If true, we may have a shot at a decent QB. That doesn't mean we should pull the trigger.

I'd rather trade up to grab Joe Thomas. We need a Left Tackle far more than we need a QB.

Hey now, NOBODY is honest about who or what position they intend to draft.

Especially not this early....

And people wonder why Detroit blows with the talent they have on offense...Kitna is decent but aging and if Millen thinks Orvlosky is the answer then we'll see Millen gone ASAP.

If Detroit doesnt take a QB then its Joe Thomas or they trade down.

I say stick with the Qb's we got and build the line....and yes Joe Thomas would be one heck of a start. Be nice if down the draft the center from WVU was available too, Moses.

Whatever... the logic makes sense to me. Millen needs to take as close to a sure thing as possible with that pick and a QB has to be so risky. If they want another young QB they can always pick one up in the second round whoever is left as they practically have two first round picks as high as they're picking. In my opinion, biggest threat to get the other QB are the vikings. I would forecast Oakland to take Russel leaving either us or minnesota with the possiblity to draft Brady Quinn which I reckon most of us would be fine with if we could get him...

Joe Thomas will be long gone before we pick and will cost too much to trade up and draft him. Better to trade down and grab levi instead, or possibly another OT with our pick in the second round, there are a couple of other decent candidates who may be availalble to us in the second round at that position. The same could potentially be said of QB though too I suppose...

I dont know bro..this draft is getting deeper and deeper. And if you look at the teams in front of us most of them have decent lines. But it is hard to pass up linemen, especially great ones.

Vikes took Tavaris Jackson in the 2nd last year, so I don't see any chance of them going QB. So, if Detroit does pass up a QB, watch someone slide.

the OL has to be improved first if any qb is gonna succeed, and i still dont understand why everyones been so hard on daunte since he rushed his knee and the o-line was just awful the first few weeks

i think we should trade down and take a linebacker with the first pick and hope that joe staley is still around in the second and then try to grab a sleeper for help in the secondary

this happens every year...they say they wont tell who they are gonna pick...and make it sound like they wont draft QB...The Lions and Raiders just wont to see if any other team will try to move up for a good trade...but mark my words The Lions will still draft a QB either Quinn or Russel
