Oh, so now we're cherry picking random stats to make Henne look better. Who gives a **** what Favre did in 1993. He's always been an overrated QB who throws a **** load of picks. Unlike Henne though, he throws a ****load of TD's too. Could that Phillip Rivers stat be any more misleading? 05-07. Yea, let's use Rivers 2005 season where he threw 22 passes to try and lower his numbers to Henne's level. Get real. In 06 and 07 he combined for 43 TD's and 24 picks. As for Leftwich, he's never been that good in the first place.
If Chad Henne was worth a damn, you wouldn't need to cherry pick random stats (misleading ones at that) to try and build up a case for him. Chad Henne blows, plain and simple.
I am not cherrypicking. Are you kidding me? Those are some of the most basic stats you would use to evaluate a QB.
He's saying youre cherry picking the players. He is 100% correct.
Why dont you post the COUNTLESS number of QBs who had poor TD to INT ratios with a similar amount of attempts as Henne over their first couple of years who continued to be complete trash. If you can find any who were given more opportunities to suck.
Instead you found a couple of the very few with similar numbers who turned into good players.
Another example of why watching a QB play is more important than looking at his stats. Go look at some of the highlights of Favre from 1993, or Rivers in 2007. Then look at Henne last year. Clear separation between the first 2 and Henne. They made plays, Henne doesn't. That's what you want to see in a young QB, the playmaking ability. If they show it, then you wait out the struggles, because you know there's a good chance that you've got something. If they don't, that's when you need to move on. Henne hasn't shown any playmaking ability through 2 years, the Dolphins are willing to give him a 3rd, we'll see what happens.
